After dealing with flight delays along with everyone else, Myron and I got to New Jersey… we made the rehearsal yesterday afternoon and the gig last night. The CAMI tour with Hot Tuna, Charlie Musselwhite, and Jim Lauderdale is underway and all things considered, I thought it went really well. On board is also Barry Mitterhoff, G.E.Smith and Skoota Warner. An all star cast to say the least.

Living The Dream Pt. 2

Well, Myron and I finally made it to New Jersey about midnight or so and then to the hotel. I took a quick look at my computer before hitting the sack and this cool Jamband article came up. Check it out… it’s a dandy. Anyway, getting ready to head on over to the gig at the Bergen Performing Arts Center and log some rehearsal time with the boys.

It took a little time to get here, but good old Hot ...

Just a short note written at 0455 here at the Columbus Airport in Ohio. Big storms on the East Coast yesterday… Newark closed… all our flights canceled… Yikes! Well, what was supposed to be a simple afternoon flight has turned into a two day traveling episode. As of this moment, all things seem to be working and I’m going to close my computer and head on over to the gate.

Bon Voyage us!

Whoops… flash update… morning flight canceled! Better get ...

Well, we got home just in time for a decent snowstorm and you know, I loved it! One moment there was this:

…and what a memory to take with us.

Then, on my way to Canton today there was this…

In the distance you can see the Shade River side of the Fur Peace Ranch. There is indeed beauty in winter that I have always loved. It must be my Finnish/Russian ancestry.

Well, tomorrow is a big football day so I’m going to ...

…And Then It’s Time To Go Home

Well, it’s been a fabulous trip to Hawaii in general and Maui in particular. Our FPR Workshop was outstanding and the three days off we had were rejuvenating. This morning we went into Old Lahaina for breakfast and took a moment’s pause to say hello and goodbye to the old Banyan Tree.

It’s been wonderful, but the Mainland and work is awaiting us. My next entry will be from the Southeast Ohio winter of Hillside Farm.

Aloha Maui! Mahalo!

We drove up to the crater on Haleakala today and even at ten thousand plus feet, the temperature was temperate. The crater was unbelievable as always. This is a view you just don’t get tired of.

After hanging on the mountaintop for a while, we started back down and stopped off at Kula to visit my old friend Babalou and his daughter. He cooked us a splendid home cooked Mexican dinner and I took left overs home to the house. ...

And Then… A Day Off

It’s been a busy time for me… the last two and a half months that is. For all practical purposes it’s been non-stop which in these days of economic stress is a blessing. That said, after my show with Maria Muldaur and Dan Hicks last night, I slept late today and except for a long walk down to the beach to watch the whales early this morning, I’ve just been sitting around. This would make me crazy after a ...
