A Pho Friday With Hurlbut, And A Lovely Weekend

Friday night we had our first Pho Peace Dinner since February… and it was awesome if I do say so myself. The food was excellent, John picked a gaggle of great songs for me to accompany him on, and it was a great evening in all respects. Saturday night as we were driving home from town, Nessa snapped this picture coming up the driveway.

They know where you come from and how you got where you are. You have shared moments of life and loss. Life evolves as it must for each of us in its own way, but at the end of the day… you are still friends. Here you see my dear ...

Last week I got to play on a tune for the great Joe Louis Walker for his upcoming project on Cleopatra Records out of L.A. Joe and I go way, way back to the early Fillmore days. It was such an honor that he asked me to do this!

Life On LIfe’s Terms

Well, the Fourth Of July came and went. The heat wave was still in effect here in Southeast Ohio back then so we elected to have a family barbecue on the deck here at the house. The camp that Izze had selected turned turned out to be the farthest thing from what she had hoped it would be, so Vanessa drove another thousand miles to pick her up and bring her home. This is a whole other conversation that ...

Rob Ickes And Trey Hensley Come To The Fur Peace Ranch

Well, last night Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley came to our little corner of the universe and made a whole lot of people, including me and Vanessa very happy with their magnificent show. I got to briefly share the stage with Rob and Trey at the Folk Alliance in Kansas City, MO earlier this year. I’ve known Rob for some time now and have always admired his technical mastery of the dobro that was always deeply marinated with soul. ...
