Portland, Maine Is Just The Same…

…as sunny Tennessee… sort of. Tennessee doesn’t have Becky’s Diner.

Portland 1

Yep… it’s open from 0400 to 2100… and there’s always a line, with good reason. I had the Lobster/Swiss Cheese omelet. A walk down the street from the Holiday in to the harbor, and there you are.

Lobster ommlet – oohh man, I’m heading north. In the hundreds of times I’ve seen You and the Tuna, I don’t think I’ve ever heard Sea Child live. I take that as a good thing though. You know what they say, ‘Keep coming back’.

Gorgeous version of Water Song for the encore. First time for me hearing that played. Great show at a great venue.

Kudos to One Longfellow Square for bringing Jorma and Barry back to Portland. Can’t wait to see them there again.

Next up for me is Acoustic Hot Tuna in Keene NH in late Feb 2012.

What a great show last night, some very inspired playing by Jorma and Barry in a very intimate venue. Parchman Farm was a real treat, I’ve not heard than one live before. It’s back to Toronto for me today, I’m glad I made my annual pilgrimage to the Portland area to see Tuna again and stay with friends Jim and Juanita. Hopefully we’ll catch up with the tour again in Albany this winter. Have a great tour!
