A Grand Trip To Old Italia

Where all is ancient, but not old

Where all is ancient, but not old

Well, we got to Italy three days ago and I’m just taking a moment here at the Diplomat Hotel in Torino to avail myself of their lovely internet. Our first stop two days ago already seems like a lifetime in the past. Of course we welcomed ourselves to Northern Italy with a superb meal… as always.

Eating in Vicenza

Next, of course… the gig with David Bromberg.

Mmmmm good!

You must have a special fondness for Italy, as you keep returning for decades.

Try to go to Catania down in Sicily. Rent a car and get on the ferry. Best wine and food in all of Italy. Dylan played there at Taoramina about 15 years ago. Lots of mom and pop places and beautiful views of the ocean. Down furthur south check out Agrigento, where you can see the temple of Juno, largely unrestored and standing tall after 5000 years and several wars later.
