Home Is Where The Heart Is

Well, I didn’t exactly leave my heart in San Francisco… but I spent two decades there and without a doubt, a piece of my heart remains there.

The view from Twin Peaks just never gets old

The first sunset at back home at Hillside Farm, looked like this:

You can't make this up... very nice!

You can't make this up... very nice!

Back in the Buckeye, Zach and I had a chance to do a little off road riding on the back side of the Fur Peace Ranch property. Me, being the old man I am, ride a fourwheeler… he… being the young teenager, rode his dirt bike. After the big storm a couple of weeks ago, there were trees down over the trails… big trees. Zach just pick up the front wheel and jumped them like a professional.

The field at the end of our property... SR 681 in the distance.

You just can’t beat a ride in the woods with your son I say!

Back at the Fur Peace Station

Back at the Fur Peace Station

Back at the Fur Peace Station we dismounted and cleaned the mud off. We can hardly wait for the next ride.

Tuff Track... Red Neck Olympics

Well, hold on now… that night we went to the Athens County Fair for Tuff Track. Mud boggin’ with the bro’s and sis’ how much better does it have to get? This is the first time I’ve been to the A County fair in a couple of years… and I love the Tuff Track!

Dwellers in the forest...

Back at the Ranch… some friends who were into archeology came by and we looked at this ancient limestone cliff down from the A-Frame. There is quite a cave here and obviously, in the past… there were indeed dwellers. The River Of Time Flows on! Imagine this… right in my own back yard… so to speak.

Home to many... for a long time. Now us...

Home to many... for a long time. Now us...

Well… Lincoln Schleiffer is coming in today… Jill Sobule and the Persuasions will be in tomorrow… and me of course… It’s going to be a great weekend at the Fur Peace Ranch.

Onward…

    Hey Jorma,
I definitly can relate to missing San Francisco but there’s nothing like raising your kids in the country. Where I live they actually have annual turtle races…just can’t beat that. Time goes by way to fast so enjoy the kids while they still want to spend time with you.
    Great pics.

    Jorma,
Was at my place up in the Catskills last week, and Hogan is right no place like the country. good ole mountain dew. Pretty dry up there, creek is low. Took a ride up to the finger lake for a couple days(stayed at la tourelle) wine is spectacular. But the countryside is magical. Actually going up next week for the Delaware County fair – looks a lot like Athens. Those people are the salt of the earth. And Zach looks like a fine young man. My son is 18 today – real nice kid -dirt bike, .22, chasing girls – just like his old man. Anyway gotta go out to dinner

Great post Jorma! See you Saturday. Stoked to be back at the Ranch, hungry for a Hot Tuna Melt, Brownie and great music with all the cool folks from all over.

Have a great weekend, Jorma! Shine on. What an incredible world you’ve created for you, your family, and the extended family that now connects with you on a spiritual level. I can’t wait for my next opportunity to visit, learn, and do some pickin’. PEACE

Somebody had earlier asked for a comment regarding the 2400 Fulton St. Airplane house. Well, I’d kind of like to hear about (or see photos of) YOUR former house in San Fran. Bob Steeler was quoted one time as saying it was a real interesting place. Rehearsals took place there, I understand.

Zach might be a pro dirt-biker, but he’s definitely a pro fisherman the way he brought that 25 lbs. ono on the boat in Maui! Backcountry-living really seems like the good life!
