Gleefull in Joshua Tree

Barry Mitterhoff, Myron and myself were up early yesterday morning here in Yucca Valley and headed out to Joshua Tree National Park. I have been coming here off and on since the late Sixties when I first drove up with my buds from Jefferson Airplane.

We spent several hours driving around and doing some light hiking.

A little later in the day, we drove up to Pioneer Town for our gig at Pappy And Harriet’s.

Now that shot of you and Barry looks like a perfect shot for an album cover… Barry looks so majestic, but don’t tell him that, it may go to his head. Either that or you guys are posing for jeans commercial.

Having travelled to many national parks in my life one trip holds a special place in my memory. After many years of trying to convince my late father to accompany me on a trip out west i was finally successful in convincing him to come along with my oldest son and myself. We visited five national parks and had the time of our lives. I remember visiting the Mohave Desert with him and the both of us standing outside of our van just experiencing the magnificense of that place. Dad passed away about a year or so after that trip but i will never forget it. I am glad that i never gave up on trying to persuade him to go…..
