December 7th, 2010 Jorma Leave a comment Go to comments

Well, here I am just getting ready to get back to the studio to finish up the project with Jack. There have been lots of comments about the Beacon shows and I appreciate them all. Suffice it to say, that I think people will be truly surprised in a good way by what we are accomplishing in the studio. You know, it’s funny… when you start talking with people about art and performance, everyone is an architect… I do the same thing myself. Some like what you do… some have suggestions. It’s all good, it really is. For us, it’s exciting to start going places we haven’t been before… driving a new road in the old car so to speak. I’m really excited about this new Tuna CD and I hope you all will be too. In any case, as always we try to do our best. We’ll be out of the studio tomorrow and the project will be in the capable hands of Mr. Larry Campbell and Mr. Justin Guip. I don’t have a release date yet. Needless to say we’ll keep you posted.

Last but not least for this entry… Today Vanessa and I have been married for twenty two years! The woman is a saint… and she is indeed the wind beneath my wings.

Off to the studio!

Happy Anniversary and thanks so much for everything!!

A few momories from a veteran of Gaelic Park (Where I think Hot Tuna made it’s first public appearance (I thihk you announced that ” we have been fooling around and did not plan to come out quite so soon” as Grace had her throat surgery–”Emergency, Marty Balin–LOVED IT!”) And the Village Gaslight where you guys greeted us rain-soaked folks waiting on line outside, and The Fillmore East acoustic Hot Tuna concert with Leon Russell in ‘71?–and so, so so many more…

Happy anniversary, Jorma! Concerning the new CD–a vinyl release would also be great for all of us old fans who still relish the sweet, warm sound of those vinyl platters.

Happy Anniversary Jorma and Vanessa. And thanks again for those wonderful shows at the Beacon. It was great to say hello at the Meet and Greet (we talked about Doheny Blues Festival and Taqueria Vallarta in Santa Cruz). Still makes the hair stand up on my neck thinking and reminiscing about being with old friends and hearing Hot Tuna at their absolute best! Can’t wait for the new cd also

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! Special thanks to Vanessa for the excellent seating at the Beacon. That was a logistical labor of love placing all those Ranch seats. Hope I can deliver my son Jack your way soon.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY……….Twenty two years to share with each other…….could there be an actual measure for what your two hearts are holding? Your union is a clear example of the “power of two”. Keep the light shining and the lamp burning.
Need I comment on how good the Saturday Beacon show was? Looking forward to any Tune CD.

I loved both shows this past weekend…thanks! I also must admit wondering if your marriage was OK after hearing the song “If this is love, I want my money back” on both nights. After reading your recent blog, it put my mind at ease knowing that you and Vanessa are both together and happy. Happy anniversary…and many more.
