A Hard Day’s Night

December 8th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

We’ve been in the Studio every day since the second beacon show and we’re just winding up as I write. It’s been a heck of a session. Time to load the bus and head for New Jersey… More will be written tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s a picture from Saturday night at the beacon…

Just thought I would post this awesome review! http://soundofblackbirds.blogspot.com/2010/12/hot-tuna-beacon-theater-new-york-city.html

It sums up to a tee why I love Hot Tuna so much. I was at both shows and they were 2 Hot Tuna show for the ages. If I would make one comment about the review, the reviewer obviously gave away his age when he stated that this was the longest Hot Tuna show he’d ever attended. I have some stories about Hot Tuna shows in the mid 70s, but that’s for another day.

    Jorma, Jack, Tuna etc…

I attended both Beacon shows. Its Friday week after and I am just recovered. I have been a fan for 35 years. Grew up in nYC, saw you in the early 1970’s for the first time back in high school.

Saw the Beacon shows with high school buddies I have not seen in 37 years…what a rush.

I am telling you this cause the shows just brought back so much; my youth, my friends, the music, all real good…all from the heart.

Just wanted to say it was just great. I have not had such a good time in decades.

    Happy bday, anniversary, holiday..etc

Hope you find it inside to do this again..

My experience echoes Joe’s. I traveled up from Miami to attend both Beacon shows — which I would count among the best Tuna shows I’ve seen (among some 60 or so Tuna and Jorma shows over the years). Been going to Tuna shows since 1972 — and last weekend I got to spend them with old college friends who I used to go to shows with in the mid-1970s at the Academy of Music/Palladium, Capitol, places on Long Island, etc. Thanks for the wonderful music and your concern about us fans over the years!

Echoing Todd’s closing sentence….It’s like we’re not “Fans” at all….jus’ all part of a REALLY big family

Sigh…..Hoping Santa will bring me some Durham Tuna Tix!!! (I’ve been REAL good this year….Been practicing my fingerpicking at least 1/2 hour every day…well, Almost every day)

    Enjoy the show tonight!!!
