Not the Newark that I remember from the early ’80s during my college days at Rutgers. Though, as Jorma notes, there’s still some of that “old school” charm (no pun intended). Sorry to have missed electric Tuna, and the old power trio no less.

Great show last nite. So glad you opened with True Religion.I work for John and of all the shows we produced of Tuna, I don’t think once I’ve heard you guys play that, thanks again.I heard you met my fiancee Diana in the production office with John and Rich, I must have just missed you. Hopefully in November at the Beacon I get the chance. See you then. If not, I guess we’ll just have to make the pilgrimage to southeast Ohio….

Man oh Man. Hot Tuna power trio. I’ve been waiting what seems like forever for that. And I’m 3,000 miles away. Oh well, you know what they say…You get what you get.
Hopefully, at some point some of it will be available for a listen.
Ending a show with Hit Single # 1 really puts an exclamation point on a set.
    Hot Tuna…F-K yeah!

    Jorma,
First, that was an amazing gig in Newark. I was right up front. I had not seen Jack like that, in the pure power trio mode, in a dogs age. I thought I saw the self-tuning Gibson do it’s thing, very sweet sounding, for sure. Myron’s set up was dialed in as usual. Jack signed my 2002 Mt. Tabor photo (thanks again Phil) and then I met the guy running the Tabernacle gig.

I sure hope I can swing that one. I lived in Mt Tabor, my dear old dad still does and the venue is one of a kind.

That setlist is like the perfect list of songs. You lucky guys – I told you it would be good – and I also saw them once in the ’70s like DennisK – up front and just the trio – just blew me away also.

It would be nice Jim, but I’m busy adjusting to my new life here on the other side of the continent. I just have to wait for Oct-Nov.
I’ll bet some recordings will surface down the road. Meanwhile, I’ll live vicariously through y’all.

I never thought I would see Newark come back like it has in my lifetime. It still has a ways to go but Newark is moving in the right direction. Sorry I missed the show Thursday.

Thank you my friend. I don’t think my limited techno tools, or my schedule will allow. But, if anyone has access to any recordings of these shows…well, I would be very grateful to hear some Hot Tuna power trio.

Newark is still the scariest big city in the country – get in and out of town quick. Oops I forgot about Detroit.
