Monday I drove over to Charleston, West Virginia to pick up Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams after their Mountain Stage show. Tuesday and Wednesday we rehearsed for our upcoming Hot Tuna show celebrating the music of Jefferson Airplane at Lockn’ in Arrington, Virginia.

More will be revealed…

    Dear Jorma and family,
Just want to say hello. Been a big fan for many a year and got to see many shows when I was a kid back in the mid 70s.
Been reading your blog and just wanna put in my 2 cents…
The thing I come away with is when you speak of the ‘Rock Star’ image and how it is so not who you are. Thats a funny reality because growing up and going to those 6 hour shows blasted out of my head.. the ‘rock star’ image was ingrained in me and you guys were my heroes…
Well I’m 57 now and 40 years has changed my perspective no doubt.
Bottom line Jorma….its gratitude. I am grateful for your writing this blog, grateful for the music for sure, but most of all I am grateful for how much your love of life and your family and friends exudes in your writing and touring. That to me is the real connection between us as people.
I can not imagine the things you have seen and done in your life. But it was and is your life. Not mine.
Too often people get trapped into that celebrity rock star BS and loose track of our real nature.
Your writing and your smile dispel all of that for me…growing up with those vinyl LPs with pictures of rock stars was a powerful force on an 11 year old in 1969 with a copy of Volunteers under the Christmas tree.
At the end of the day its plain to see that you are just a lucky, talented and decent man….
Live long my friend and thanks for the music.

Well Jorma, I’m a bit behind the curve…I’ve been trying to stay ahead of my personal curve ya know. But, I just got finished listening to the new album all the way through. I love how everything starts with your picking. It’s always been the essence of your art. The songs have a time line story feel. I love Larry’s pedal steel.
    It’s a masterpiece.
    Be safe out there.
    Seeya soon.

I am a big Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive) fan. I bet she will do great job celebrating the music of JA!

“More good times” and “Less stress” to all the FPR/HT friends and family!

You need to name the Mule.maybe do a raffle for voting for a name out of 3 or 4. Then give the proceeds to some charitable cause.
