Nice selfie Jack – you guys look like a couple dudes in your early sixties just hanging out – having a good time. You guys have good genes. Can’t wait for the Beacon next month – I can’t believe its almost here – FREAKIN AT THE BEACON – then I’ll see you again out in Westhampton in December!

    Hello richu:
I am sorry that we did not communicate here before this time?
Where do you live? I am learning about “hunting season” in the Northeast.

Barbara J. had a good idea about the deer problem in the Hamptons area.
Many people wanted to “cull” the deers and others (even a very good friend with her) he was against “culling”. (”against” define as “Not for the plan”?)

Barbara said that a good solution will be to “dart” the deer with sedative and
then transport them up to the Adirondacks up state area. They will have a nice sleep and then can wake up in the place there where they can be happy.

Oh,man ! Some people gave argument about her idea at meeting of Hamptons residents. She tells them O.K. don’t “cull” them and allow them to run over your property and mess your nice gardens. Allow them to leave the fleas they bring to give the Lyme disease. Better to transport them to the up state area where they can wake up in a paradise for deer.”

(One time some years ago Barbara invite Buddy Cage to a big party in the New Jersey near the Pennsylvania border. Buddy driving and a deer run out in front of the car. Buddy stop fast and no harm done.
Barbara ask “Has not the word got out to the deer community to not run across the roads? where are the deer all rushing to a meeting at the deer convention?”
It was not the mate season. ) @richu

    Jim Hitchcock:
    Barbara J. here:

Are you planning to be in NYC for the Mark Knopfler show? If so, I have a place for you to stay in Manhattan.
(Would be happy to have you stay at the house in East Hampton but we have 14 friends from Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina; staying there. Waiting to go home but it doesn’t look like that will be any time soon. I have friends from S. Carolina, staying in my Brooklyn apartment. Andriy is taking care of them with good food from the restaurant. They never had kasha before.)

I am staying in a condo that is very close to my former Manhattan condo.
If you want, let me know and you’re welcome to stay. Easy walk to the show.
After Mark Knopfler, I’m heading out of the country to work.

P.S. Andriy is getting his conversational skills together. His comment is a re-telling of my conversations with him. The Buddy Cage vs. crazy deer experience
really did happen. Buddy has good reflexes.

As for the deer population problem in the Hamptons:
I got nowhere, with what was a very good, humane compromise suggestion.
Instead, they voted to “fix” the doe-a-deer, a female deer. The cost of each operation was $1,200 – $1,500 per doe.
As you may have guessed — I was not happy with that. The female deer had to get
the operation, while the male deer just keep on shtupping like bunnies.

I’m NOT following this…is this Anderley a man or woman?
Oh…and let me know when I can stay in the East Hampton digs.

Wow, thanks for the offer, Barbara, but alas, I won’t be seeing Knopfler this time around.

jim, maybe next time. If it’s summertime you can learn how to paddle-board and Andriy’s mom will cook for you any time you’re in NYC. It will be a visit filled with good food, music, film and fun.

The “he/his” indicates that Andriy is a man.@Sweetbac
If you are from any of those flooded areas and need a place to live, you can
stay at the East Hampton digs now. It’s getting crowded but it’s better than
a motel or a shelter situation.

Anderson, If I DO decide to stay at the Hampton manse, will I wake
up with a deer head in my bed?
    I’m confused.

    Oh, I get it:
another ‘guys who aren’t up on current events’ combined with richu, who commented to andriy about “hunting season up (t)here.”

Good to know that they had such laughs over it.
