More Than Antiquities In The Holy Land

Two nights ago, good old fun loving Hot Tuna played the Reading 3 in Tel Aviv, Israel. First of all… Jack Casady got delayed in Frankfort, Germany to to the huge snowstorms in Europe. When He finally got To Israel, the airlines had lost his luggage AND his bass guitar. Myron, our guitar doctor and Skoota our drummer got held up in security in Barcelona, Spain and when they finally got here, they came right from the airport to the gig and after the gig, they went back to the airport. You’d think with all this going on… or not going on as the case might be, that we’d have a crummy show. Nothing could have been further from the truth. It was a sold out show and the audience was just the best. All ages, all walks of life… I’ve never seen anything like it. I can hardly wait ’till we come back, and we are going to come back. Eran Arielli our promoter took such good care of us and did such a great job… I just feel like he is an old friend. From Abu Hassan’s Hummus shop to the Reading 3 to Jerusalem, it just couldn’t have been better. Well, back to the Reading 3.

Here is our set list:

As a long time veteran of Suffolk Forum days in the mid 70’s and a die hard fan, I was floored by the show. I was the one who gave you the Hot F#^kin’ Tuna shout early on. You were sublime and Jack was in his best form. Thank you!!!

Nice blog from Israel, but it’s pretty funny to see that everyone STILL misspells Jack’s last name…

seeing the band after 30 years was amazing. I have great images for you Like the one of you and your daughter backstage. As promised that one i won’t post anywhere but i would like to get it to you. Hope to see you again here in Israel. Please bring a story I can take with me. Remember “you will find yourself a teacher”.
