And So It Begins…

After dealing with flight delays along with everyone else, Myron and I got to New Jersey… we made the rehearsal yesterday afternoon and the gig last night. The CAMI tour with Hot Tuna, Charlie Musselwhite, and Jim Lauderdale is underway and all things considered, I thought it went really well. On board is also Barry Mitterhoff, G.E.Smith and Skoota Warner. An all star cast to say the least.

Bus call is soon, so this will have to be brief. This set list is imperfect, I know… I don’t know the names of all the songs yet even if I know hows to play them. I’ll get better, I promise. In any case, here is what happened last night… more or less:

Well Captain(and Jack!)looks like I blew it! I didn’t make the 48 hour advance notification deadline for getting in touch with Brett, about getting some stills shot during sound checks… Ugh! It’s like Hofstra ’73, all over again. Anyway, I just wanted to wish all a good show in Sugar Loaf, as it’s about to start. And look at that sold out house!

Good show, Jorma – love the guest line-up, and G.E. was on fire. Barry’s new beard suits him too.

Just one note, I think it was ‘Uncle Sam Blues’ with Charlie instead of ‘Search My Heart’.

Took the show in; needless to say an extraordinary performance; since when did we get anything else? Charlie lives the Blues, DE, Jim added a lot, the musicianship is always par excellence. Look forward to the summer area shows, best…
