I love that painting above Izze’s bed with the flowers.

I was walking my dog earlier this year and saw a neighbor tossing out a picture for the garbage collection. It was of one brightly colored flower in a pretty neat frame. I asked him if I could have it and he said “Sure.” Talk about a clear cut case of serendipity!

A few months later I told his wife the painting is hanging in my living room. She gave me a little background on it. She worked at a school in the inner city. Every year they would have an art show, selling paintings that the kids in school did.

She said this particular painting was done by a 11 or 12 year old girl. My neighbor had it hanging in her kitchen for many years. she felt bad about tossing it, and was thrilled to know it found a good home. It sure we be great to meet that budding young artist some day.

as Jerry sang, “One man gathers, what another man spills.”

All that to say, Izze if you ever get tired of that painting, I have a place for it in my living room!

Tomorrow’s show at Westhampton Beach is probably a test run for their tour with the Tedeschi Trucks Band in July. It’s the most happening event of season in the Hamptons this year. I was reading a press article in local paper and it said that Jack lived on an island off of Normandy, France. I always thought that Jack lived in California.

I was wondering the same thing about that partial view of the painting above Izze’s bed.
I thought it was from the school of Klimt, with different coloration.@rich l

from recent setlists, it appears Tedeshi-Trucks have been adding the 1975 Jefferson Starship classic “Miracles” into the encore slot at various stops…is there ANY chance you’ll be invited to take a crack at it with the band, Jorma?
