We all know that the Fourth Of July is not all about beer and barbecue. We Americans should show love for our country every day… but this day is indeed… a little special.

Happy birthday land of mine!

We really enjoyed the show at SPAC. That was fun, relaxed summer evening. A perfect pre-4th of July celebration. Thank you Jorma and Jack, The Wood Brothers and Derek & Susan et al.

Is there a place, an email address I can send a photo that we took at this show?
    All the best,
    H2

“The tour with Derek and Susan is more fun than most anything… music, friendship and food!”

My “fun part time job” is working security at concerts, sporting events and other special events and have worked many TTB shows both backstage and up front. It truly is the most family oriented atmosphere around the TTB. Great people.

I think i was at those SPAC shows for the Dead. I remember one show where a thunderstorm and torrential rain pounded those of us out on the lawn. @Sweetbac Jr.

AAron Burr, a political adversary of Aleaxander Hamilton challenged Hamilton to a duel. Hamilton accepted and was shot and killed by Burr in Weehawkin NJ . Politics and politicians were just as vile and reactionary as they are now. Maybe more so. As for me i choose to Keep On Truckin. @rich l

Did you allow Jack to take the controls of your drone or just look at them?

I saw the Dead at SPAC in ’83 -’85…never got close to the pavilion never mind the stage. hopefully it wasn’t that crowded for Tuna. I like Trucks’ tour bus.
Imagine if Tuna had one in 1976…tooling around the tri-state area…what a site it’s be to see a 15 foot Bob Steeler trucking down 14th street Manhattan!
    Oh what might have been.

Well, when election time came around, they were every bit as nasty as they are today, but didn’t have the platform to instantly reach so many people. That would be something, Rich, to have leaders use such powerful tools as twitter and facebook to edify and build up the people they lead. As crazy as it may look or sound right now, I believe that our Constitution is still, to this day, driving us towards a more perfect union. It’s potholes like we’re in now that it was designed to pull us out of.@rich l

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they have been endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, among these Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” – Thomas Jefferson

    I love that sentence.

Our Founding Fathers were not only very brave men, but great writers. Wouldn’t it be great to see a tweet like that come out? I think the Founding Fathers were quite aware of the machinations of men, and the fragile nature of democracy. Somehow, I don’t think they had the time, or inclination, for negative tweets about their adversaries.

D.C. airspace is kinda tight, yeah? Oh, and I did read my copy of the Declaration of Independence early yesterday to keep the holiday in perspective.
Good music and safe travels to you all.

Pretty much what I was just thinking, Tom. Jorma and Derek together is so right on. Refreshing to know about it happening…and see some bird’s eye views of these fab venues…and feel connected to the tour even from home.@tom

    Hello Everyone,
Was at the show last night at SPAC & thought you might like to know how it went?
It was soooo good.It was a Tedeschi-Trucks headliner but I was there for some Hot Tuna! I was mesmerized by Jorma & Jack and the quality of their performance. They were spot on and my only regret is that it passed so quickly. It has been some time since I have had the pleasure of seeing them live (Life has a way of doing that right?) but it was if it was the early ’80’s and I was in college all over again. Thank you Jorma, stay well and please come back.
“And though I’m feeling you inside
My life is rolling with the tide
I’d like to see it be an open ride
    Along with you
    Going along with you”
    Peace – John
