After Bethel, Jack went home while I (Jorma) did some book press for Been So Long and one of the first stops was to visit with some great folks up a Sirius/XM Radio.

I had just walked out of the elevator when what should I see?

Today, taking the kid to school… doing a little laundry and getting ready to hit the bus to head to Randolph, Vermont and the Chandler Center For The Arts.

As for me…

Good things come, good things go
If it lifts you up it will lay you low
People leave and they don’t come back
Life is a disappearing act…

    A word comes to mind.
    Whirlwind.
Looks, and sounds like you’re enjoying yourself Jorma. I’m so happy for you & your family.
Got to watch your radio/tv show in NY. Great interview, and great versions of Sleep Song, Been so Long, and Death don’t have no Mercy.
I’m getting close to the end of your book. Early on they wished me a long, slow recovery. That’s how I’m treating your book. Long and slow.
Watched you playing on Season of the Witch. Terrific solo my man!
Question please: Why sometimes flat pick, and sometimes finger pick when playing electric solos? I struggle with this decision in my own playing.
Thank you for continuing to show up.
    Much love.

Really enjoyed the Boulton show and glad I got to get a book signed and shake Jorma’s hand..Mentioned to Jorma I am an old fan from the Palladium midnight shows..His response “Will not keep you up so late this time” I wouldnt have minded..LOL
Met Al Roker on set I once built for a TV commercial he was in about 20 years ago..Real nice guy and gave me an accurate weather forecast for that weekend..He said rain and it sure did..

Thank you so very much for the show at The Odeum in East Greenwich, RI.

Watching you play, for me, is like being in a museum and seeing an actual Picasso or being in the presence of Mozart. I am just in awe.

Thank you for your gift of music, which literally spans my entire lifetime.

It was an honor to meet you at the book signing. Thank you, as well, for accepting the photo I took of you and Mr. Casady when you were at The Odeum last December. What fun it must be to play music with a decades old friend…

We hope you will come back to our little venue soon.

Peace & Blessings ~ Safe Travels, too.

p.s. So very glad you got to visit and enjoy Jigger’s ~ a place I’ve gone to since I was a child.

Gave that one a listen. Spoke loudly to me as I’m a lot closer to the mouth of the river of time than the headwaters. Really like your metaphor of drifting on the river of time. Anyone who’s ever drifted a canoe down a river knows that it takes little effort to stay in the middle of the stream. A touch of the oar on either side will keep you in the center. That makes it a lot easier to absorb the surroundings. If you’re paddling your ass off you might miss the blue heron stalking the bank or the sunning turtle slipping off the log. If you try to paddle upstream it doesn’t take long to exhaust yourself. Relax and float downstream. You’ll not only see but savor the good things as they come and go, and hopefully disappear peacefully into the morning mist of the river. You always give me something to think about, Jorma. Thanks.

A little illiterate poem suggested by the “Disappearing Act”
    Thanks for the opportunity Jorma!

    Time Out

Drops of time do shine like faraway beads of ancient rains in perpetual presence-
Will they fill the texture in my dream dimension so still in their weightlessness-
We rehearse dreaming to ride the pink papier-mâché pony whirling in the fair-
and wave to the dazzling spectators our simple soul so freed there-
I rehearse jumping off the bus in April chased by the Divine Providence-
and hug all the Nations whilst changing into a butterfly when the seasons switch off this obsolescence-
I so deliver to my double standing in the shade this set of temporary perpetuity outfit-
may the fragrance of the underbrush drive my wild path to the lake shores so dipped in the dead silence when I champ the bit-

    Hatrack

    Ode to The Captain

One flaming flag is The Captain for us all
once and forever we sail the wings of our rolling soul -
Independent through the mists flows flashing one love beam -
so blessed the present gigs breathe with us in direct stream -
wireless deepest golden smile heals us all safe ashore
His words da muzak ‘n rockin’ extra voice we just can’t call for more

    @richu
We had a limo crash here on LI last year – 5 dead.
The upstate crash last week killed 20 – what a tragedy.
    Prayers for all involved.
    They should hang the owner.
    The limo had no brakes.
