Yesterday the boys flew out and I met John Hurlbut at the airport with a quick trip to Sanibel Island where we will spend the next two weeks with Fur Peace Ranch on the road.

Sure has been an interesting two weeks…

When you get tired of the hotels food. Try Doc Ford’s Grille. The paella and oysters are great. Try shelling in the morning and the sunsets are spectacular. Enjoy yourself.

Terrific performance in Bonita Springs on Saturday. It was all excellent and as I sat there thinking “sure would like to hear Good Shepherd” it was as if you were reading my mind – just a few minutes later it was served up in great fashion! Thanks!!!

Fantastic show in Clearwater Friday night. The boys were in peak form. You could have heard a pin drop in the theater at times. Sea Child, Sleep Song, Serpent imprinted on my DNA. So I turned to the woman sitting next to me and asked her if she thought they were as good as she remembered. She said that Friday night was her first time seeing Hot Tuna. When I told her that I had seen Hot Tuna at the Fillmore 50 years ago, I know she did not believe me.
Thanks for a terrific show Jorma and Jack. Please come back through Clearwater soon.

Always great to hear 3/5 ths, opportunity for Jack to open the breech and let fly the grape.
Love to hear an occasional,”If you feel”, or “Turn my life down”, the captain could Ripple the still water
    Love to hear them

Well I got the download last week.
But the CD of bears Sonic journals arrived yesterday.
Great stuff. The recording date suggests it was about 45 days before the dissemination of brown acid at White Lake.Ill watch Woodstock tonight to see the Uncle Sams blues ,played with the same fervor.
Nice thing about this Sonic episode, the play is unbridled.Living for the padt41 Years in the Bluegrass, they’d say the boys are “Running through the bit”.
It’s about as raw as it gets.
    I’d encourage another release.

I drove from Palm Beach County to Orlando to see the show at Plaza Live with my son. It was super. The set list was a dream come true. As fine a show as I have ever seen you play, and I have seen HT a lot over the years. It was great to see you both! Safe travels and have fun over on the west coast! Wish I could attend the Florida FPR!! I will get back to Ohio as soon as I can.

Took the family to see the show at The Plaza Live in Orlando and as expected Hot Tuna was great! My kids may have been the only kids there, but they loved it. My son was amazed. I had the honor of getting to speak with both Jorma and Jack the following day. What super guys! Now I have to get my son up to Fur Peace Ranch!

Did you see it has actually made “the charts”…has entered in various spots on different charts however releases are tracked nowadays..a real testament to the music and how it still resonates today and that there is still a viable audience!

    @AndyK

Andy, are you aware of the phenomena called bilocation?
    http://www.miraclesofthesaints.com/2010/09/bilocation-of-st-padre-pio.html

Jorma’s “Ranch” is on St. Clare’s road I believe…. St. Clare, a friend of St. Francis from about 800-900 years ago in many ways was deeply related to Saint Pio, who was known to bilocate. Lots of fruit can come out of the “rooms”, so never underestimate what submitting and yielding to G-d can do for a person and even a guitar player. Just sayin’. Andy please try to make both shows if you have the energy.

    Is bilocation akin to parthenogenesis?

Somewhat off topic, interesting to read today about Rhino acquiring catalogs of JA, JS and HT and glad to see Jack and Jorma pleased about it, but Billboard needs to do a better job of proofreading. I was surprised to read that Jorma and Jack “…focused on side project Hot Tuna, before forming Jefferson Starship…”. Really? C’mon, Billboard editors do your homework.

That said, Jorma, what does this mean for the Airplane and Tuna catalogs? Will it be simply re-releases of back catalog or will there be previously unreleased treasures for us?

My question was a limp attempt at absurd levity
With the “big” game approaching this weekend ,we should all immerse in either a sauna to sweat out all our poisons first,or better yet and with more edifying results -listen to George Carlin’s skit about the comparative merits of baseball and football.Always puts a Schmile on my face.Might get a chuckle from other Tuna fans as well.

Those antique war planes flying over Sanibel were the annual Page Field WWII restored bombers…One was a B-25 the other I think B-17…

The sound system at the Bonita Springs show was outside of the range of the front row but because Jorma and Jack were only 8 feet from me this allowed our sound shadow zone to hear the straight sound of the acoustic guitar…Jack’s speaker was aimed at me and I ain’t complainin…

Perfect warm weather 75-80 is returning for the week down here at Sanibel…

    Tonight’s sunset from the causeway:
