Arts & Minds At The Fur Peace Ranch

Never A dull moment

The day before Arts And Minds… this tree came down at the entrance to St. Clair Rd.

Yep... this is a big boy!

The county and the township had been waffling about who’s responsibility this tree was. Nature made its own decision.

That was Friday… Saturday was the Arts & Minds Craft Fair.

The temperature was triple digits so we mover the performances into the Station.

It was more than hot… but it could have been worse. At least we had a breeze.

Then it was showtime!

David and Adam Moss… are delightful… sensational… really, really good!

I really dug their show.

Michaeil Glabicki and Dirk Miller were there to close out the evening. Back in 1999 or thereabouts, the Tuna guys recorded ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want,’ wih Rüsted Root. Michael and Dirk asked if I would sit in with them and with a little review, than answer was a resounding , ‘Yes!’ Of course I used my 1962 Fender Super 2×10. The tremolo was delicious!

A long day… chilled on Sunday, working in the rain on Monday and looking forward to Floyd Fest this weekend.

Looks like that hackberry begs the next size up from the “farm boss”
Get the maul or splitter out.
Looking forward to the Monteagle show at the Caverns

I had over 100 trees down in my yard after Hurricane Rita, with no township or county to call for assistance. Bought a farm boss, neighbor let me borrow his tractor, and to work I went. That’ll never happen no more. All the trees are gone now!

My new guitar looks like the one you’re playing there, at least the sunburst body, anyway. I got me a
Martin D-28, and been practicing every day since my first lesson. Having a blast! Haven’t been this anticipatory about learning something new in way yonder longer than a coon’s age. Ain’t doin’ much pickin’ yet, but a whole lot of grinnin’ goin’ on!

Rosanne Rosannadana used to say…..”It’s Always Something….” Glad no one was hurt and that you were able to maintain power. I was there one time when a severe storm struck and you lost power. You guys just fired up the generator and the show went on! See you at the Caverns and Graceland next month .

It was with great regret that I had to miss this year’s A&M fest. I’m recovering from a total knee replacement, and being on my feet for a while is still a bit uncomfortable. Glad it worked out well with the hot weather and all, hope to see you all next year! m

It was a pleasure to meet you and Vanessa. Heidi is a very fortunate young artist to have you involved in her progress and her journey. I will definitely be back to Fur Peace Ranch. I would love to play on that stage sometime, but I got the impression that it was alumni only. It was a very enjoyable day with Heidi followed by your second set being the highlight.
