So there we were, Vanessa, Izze and I… viewing the start of the Macy’s Day parade from a warm place in Lincoln Center. An auspicious start to a New York City visit and Town Hall.

A delicious Thanksgiving dinner with the Tuna Gang at Riverpark and then it was time for the Friday gig at Town Hall where we were joined by our good friend Steve Kimock.

Yeah, it was a real winter drive, but at least the gig played on the next day.

Well, it could have been worse, that’s for sure. Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams
came on board (literally) and we’ll be together for the remainder of the tour.

Once again a great show, with a fantastic set list. Keep those ol’ chestnuts coming!
Yesterday I was on the road driving alongside a small Airstream in tow, glanced over and saw the model name Flying Cloud! I was wearing a big ear-to-ear grin for miles. Thanks Jorma and Happy New Year to you and the fam.

Well answered. Thank you. Great vid, too, but remember, it’s Levon – I believe the correct title is “I Ain’t in it for My Health”.

The luminaries were a great band (Warren Haynes /Don Was /Jamie Johnson ,I find Lucas Nelson curious but perfect for Neil Young), et al & than the list of great guests -Rob Margolin included.
In spite of the controversy surrounding song rights ,I’d never seen Robbie before.
    The guy wrote the songs.

I had two missed ops to see Band ,sold out at Tanglewood and the more prescient time we were skiing at Killington and several friends left for NYC ,I stayed to ski.
They saw the show that became Rock Of Ages.
Had the occasion to meet and see Levon a few times ( last time at Garhering of vibes w/Amy /Theresa & Larry .

You’ve probably all done so ,but if not check out
“I’m not in it for my health”
    Great viddy

I note that you reference luminaries, and then Robbie Robertson. Was that an afterthought or was it done with forethought? Just curious ‘lil ‘ol me askin’.

    Jorma,
I hope Teresa’s wing heals up soon. The Bethlehem/Steel Stacks show was an amazing night of musicianship for a very appreciative crowd of fans.

Thanks again for well over 50 years of consistently awesome music. Safe travels to all.

    See ya soon.

Thanks for sharin’. I love Spencer’s description of “six musicians searching for an arrangement” along with Grace describing the diversity of the players. And of course ending with Jorma at the HOF with “Embryonic Journey”. Hearing that always brings me back to the 60’s. If anyone who was born after the 60’s wants to know what it was like, what the atmosphere was like, what was the “feeling” of the 60’s, just play them that song.

    Hi Jorma,

Remember a while back you were complaining about not finding any good dinners in VT

You should check out The Chelsea Royal Diner on Rt9 in Brattleboro….on your way from Troy, NY to Keene, NH… you’ll probably be driving right by
Breakfast all day , great local food……a local favorite for years

Safe travels…. be there tonight, glad you are making back to Keene again….

Thanks as always for your sweet music and “A Real Good Time”

    Ellen

First time in 20+ years that we’ve missed the post thanksgiving Christmas /Hanukkah season in NYC.
    It’s always ethereal .
From the response of the NYC and environs fans the band is at its best .
The shows ,setlists and guests all looked top notch.
We’ll catch you guys next year on the road and hopefully in Pomeroy.
We caught the finale of the “Last waltz “ tour in Nashville with all the luminaries, and Robbie Robertson.
New Year’s Eve for us this year in Belfast with Van Morrison -should be a treat.

    Long live rock

    Merry Christmas
    Happy Hanukkah

    Seasons greetings

I’ve been a Tuna fan since the 70’s when a cousin of mine had me listen to the Burgers album. I’ve seen Jorma and Hot Tuna @ the Palladium(awesome venue, seen a lot of great shows there) in NYC. Then a few years ago I saw Jorma at the Egg in Albany, NY with David Bromberg. Saw the show Tuesday night with my daughters boyfriends, they came away Tuna fans. Thanks to Jack and Jorma for another great show! Keep them Lamps trimmed and burning!
