A Trip To Hamilton, Ohio

So, after the morning class, Barry and Myron and Phil and I got on the bus and headed west to Hamilton, Ohio and Miami University where we played at the Parrish Auditorium. The opening act was Lisa Biales guitar and vocals, Doug Hamilton, and Michael Gilbert Ronstadt, cello, guitar and voice. I loved their music… check it out. We’ll have to get them over to the Fur Peace Ranch sometime.

After a great dinner and some good music by Lisa and her friends, Barry Mitterhoff and I took the stage and here is our set list:

When Howard Epstein called and asked me to open for Jorma Kaukonen in Hamilton over a year ago, I was thrilled. I started looking forward to meeting him from that very moment. When the day finally arrived, and Jorma walked through the stage door with a big smile on his face I knew we were gonna have a great night of music. We had a delightful evening and certainly made new friends. Jorma and Barry hit a home run with their show and so did we. Life is good.

    Here’s our set list:

    1. Buzzie (lisa biales)
    2. Come To Me (lisa biales)
    3. Miss Ohio (gillian welch, david rawlings)
    4. While My Guitar Gently Weeps (george harrison)
    5. Corners (michael g. ronstadt)
    6. Peaches (lisa biales)
    Encore: Little Wing (jimi hendrix)

p.s. Thanks to Phil and Jorma and Howard for insisting we go back out on stage for 1 more. That’s class folks :-)

oh, yes, we’d love to come to Fur Peace Ranch sometime.

Wow, the long-awaited return of Keep on Truckin’! I’m not sure if this has been played at all in recent years, but I’ve often thought it would make a great comeback. Seeing you and Jack this Saturday in NYC, so I’ve got my fingers crossed…

Jorma—what is the chord progression for Vicksburg Stomp? I am a bass player so just give me the basics so that I might play along on the CD. It seems that it starts in E, goes to the 4th above, back to the root, then to the major sixth, then I get lost as it winds its way back to the root E. Great CD by the way! Thanks a bunch. Terry
