I have a very large family indeed, Vanessa corralled over a hundred of them and totally surprised me last night with countless video well wishers between songs. I was more than moved and pretty much at a loss for words. Great gratitude to Vanessa and all the folks who answered her call.

Happy Birthday Jorma!
It’s hard to believe 10 years have passed since celebrating your birthday at the Beacon. Somewhere among my many photos of HT shows is the pix I took of Phil presenting you with the multicolored airplane cake.
So grateful for you, your music, HT and all the people on both sides of the stage that have enriched my life as a result.
Love and birthday hugs,
Sally

80 YIKES to you Jorma. The show on Saturday was stupendous. The Quarantine Concerts have been a window into your amazing life. I am so thankful you remain such a vital part of the music scene. Next month will be the 50th anniversary of my first Hot Tuna show (January 1971 at the Fillmore East). I can still hear Feel So Good echoing off the ceiling of the Fillmore as you guys blew the roof off that night. You are the best. Happy birthday!
RIP Leslie West…He took some important Hendrix secrets to the grave with him…
Happy birthday Jorma. Ever since that needle hit that Quah vinyl I have been a huge fan. Wondering how can I learn how to play like that? Been trying ever since. Thanks for the Saturday night shows.Special thanks for those who put it together. Have a great birthday.

Back in San Francisco I wonder if Jorma ever envisioned his present Fur Peace gig as what he would be doing at 80…May the future be a carpet of finger pickings, riffs, and strums laid before the Jorm-master…

Happy Birthday Jorma, Wishing you and family a very good year ahead!
Happy Birthday Jorma with many more to come.
I/We have enjoyed listening to your music for over 50+ years. Seeing you perform many times as well.
It started with just some friends driving to multiple shows in the NY/NJ/PA area to bringing my future Wife to a show in 83 to having our Son meet up with us in NYC the last few years.
Your Quarantine Shows have given us to a better incite of the Man you are. God Bless & Keep on Truckin.
good morning Jorma
I wanted to wish you a very happy birthday today and thank you again for the quarantine shows. I hope your birthday is fantabulous spent with your wonderful family. the tributes you received are a certainly a testament to you. I dont think there was a dry eye in the house until Chester sang to you!! You are so very blessed and that is priceless.
Its been great getting to (virtually) know you and Vanessa as a couple. I feel as if I am invited into your home each and every week for amusing banter and song. I was at the 70th birthday show at the Beacon, and actually can spot myself on the DVD cover!! that is a very exciting thing for the lunatic fan that I am and have been for 45+ years. As for so many you have saved my soul from this very tough time we are all going through. I thank you, Vanessa and all the FPR staffers for your gift to us all. Happy Birthday, merry everything and happy new year peace & love!!
Happy Birthday Jorma! The quarantine concerts have been therapeutic to say the least. Looking forward to live (in person) events at the ranch in 2021! All the best to you and the entire FPR Family!
Peace to all!
Jorma: I first saw you and Jack (and Bob) at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, in November 1976, and your music been an indelible part of my life ever since. Your music these last 40-plus years has given me tremendous joy and has gotten me through some tough times. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful music, and many happy returns for your 80th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday Jorma! You have made the world a better place. Your music and the FPR will last forever in the hearts and minds of all those you touch. We are blessed to have you. Stay well. See ya soon…Dennis
Happy 80th Jorma !!! Thank you for all you do and Stay Forever Young !!We are so grateful to have you in our lives. Be well…
Happy Birthday, man.
You’ve done so much for so many. Something we all can aspire to. Thank you.
(And no offense to Vanessa, but if you feel like buying yourself a guitar today – go for it.)
Happy Birthday! Jorma, and Happy Holidays to everyone back at the Ranch! Thankyou so much for the Quarantine concerts. these concerts have become the means by which I measure time! Haven’t missed one yet. OMG “The Ballard of Easy Rider”! Love Frank’s idea of a “Geek Fest”. Thankyou you so much for what you are all doing. First thing I am gonna do on Christmas morning is download ” The River Flows”.
Happy Birthday Jorma – thank you for so many years of beautiful music. You’re one of the main reasons I wanted to learn to play acoustic guitar over 40 years ago – at the time most people I knew were only playing electric. Thank you and God Bless!
Eighty, achtzig, yhdeksankymmentä….what a number! Happy Birtday Jorma and many more to come, have a nice day! Stay well and greetings from Europe.
Happy Birthday Jorma. You give us hope that 80 can look, play and be cool….and helpful and loving too.
Looking forward to Fur Peace without the masks. Glad I got there b4 the Cov
Hi Jorma, Buon Compleanno to you…from a LI husband, father & guitar player. Thank you for picking, from Antioch, to Friday the 13th Aug 65 Matrix, Fillmore(s), rockin’ hard @ Academy of Music NYC; Fur Peace Ranch Sat 8PM shows, better than ever, Jack, Justin, John Hurl (Jimmy Cliff & Dylan covers are special). Vanessa is a gem, bless her.
Thank you for your heart, humor, Water Song, Rev Gary covers, lessons in family. Namaste.
Happy birthday young man! So nice that you heard from Chester. And the Ballad of Easy Rider with John was incredible. Nice, thanks
Jorma,
Happy 80th Birthday. Since you like to surround yourself with your guitars on stage, would it be possible to do a question and answer on your current inventory, guitars you played in the past, and maybe show us the guitars that rarely make the stage during an up coming concert. Sort of a Geek Fest, I am sure many people would enjoy.
Dug 31. Thank you.
What joyful noise! Thanks to you and Vanessa for generously sharing with all of us. Happy Birthday and joyous Yule, old friend.
Jorma,
The show was great and all the wishes were so well deserved. Vanessa did a wonderful job.
If you had to film your fans we would still be there watching. You have touched so many lives over the years.
Wishing you well in the years to come and I can’t wait to see everyone and a live show.
Hogan
🙂
Thanks Vanessa for sharing the festivities with all of us. Congratulations Captain on all those circles around the sun and hope all your executive orders are carried out. Peace and Stay Safe
I thought it was a great show and a fantastic tribute to one of the greatest fingerpickin guitar players out there. I didn’t really realize just how much influence you had on my early years of my guitar playing but I know how much you will influence my next 20 years of playing. Vanessa, Thank you for taking such great care of Jorma and thank you for sharing him with us. God Bless both of you and the whole crew down at the Fur Peace Ranch.
Dale
Great show on Saturday night. Nice to see all those who spoke about Jorma in a glowing light. You know Jorma as I watch you get up & move to get your Guitars you remind me of my Grandfather. He was tall man who till the age of 90 walked 5+ miles every morning in retirement. He would spend his days working on his cars. Only one lasted as long as him. 1930 Model A that was still going at the time as of his passing when he was 96.My older Brother got that car & drove it everyday in Maine till he sold late ’80’s.
Also today Frank Vincent Zappa would have been turning 80. From 1971 to ’77 I don’t know who I saw more often Frank or Tuna. Frank on Halloween Felt Forum & Tuna at the Academy of Music. An that was just in the NYC scene.
@nick brunetto
Happy Holidays to you and your family. Give my greetings to Your Uncles Bobby and new papa Paulie too

hi . happy birthday jorma. i have been a massive fan of the jefferson airplane since the takes off lp in 66. my one big wish is to see you ,jack and grace singing and playing together on a quarintine show. it can be done but how?
Hi Bruce… thanks for the B’day wishes. Jack was out here in Ohio for a month and a half and we did all those shows together. Now I have learned to never say never, but I talk to Grace periodically and she does not travel and has no desire to perform… so far. It’s always nice to hope but I’m not holding my breath. Stay well!
Another big THANK YOU ! for the ongoing Quarantine Concerts. They are definitely the Light of my Saturday World (pardon the paraphrased reference).
Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the 23rd with wishes for many more ! My 70th is coming up on the 25th and I’ve been enjoying your work for the past 50 of those

Wishing you the best Bday ever..80 is such a big deal..So sorry we could all not be together at the Carnegie to celebrate..Hope I make it that long..I will be 63 tomorrow on the 22nd..
Agreed it was an emotional evening for me as well.
Jorma has meant so much to my life. Seeing all those tributes (I liked GE Smith’s the best), and pondering the miracle that we all still recieve the gift of his music after all we’ve been through.
I don’t take it lightly.
I’m so grateful Jorma, for the day you were born.
Another great show. Thanks for taking us elsewhere on our Saturday nights 🙂 Great tributes, the love of your friends was palpable. Jeez I found myself getting kind of weepy. Wishing you a happy and healthy birthday!
That was an awesome show last night, and a well deserved tribute to a great human being. I have the honor of being the first to comment. I just want to say thank you to Jorma and his family for welcoming me into their very large family. In these days where social isolation abounds it is a real comfort. Wishing you continued health and happiness on your 80th birthday. Best Wishes, Eric Clauss
