Morning sings...
It’s been almost a week since Chris Snither and Patty Larkin graced the Fur Peace Ranch and I just haven’t found the time to sit down and finish this post until now. It’s 0603 and Vanessa and I are having coffee together while I write this.

The morning sun bounces off the barn roof
Fall is gently starting to wrap us in the fire of Autumn… It is still early foliage for us, but if wind and rain don’t strip the trees, it looks like it’s going to be a good one.

Morning in the country... gotta love it
In any case, last weekend Chris and Patty came to town to teach at the Ranch and play a concert on Saturday night. To spend the weekend with these more than talented friends was Fall Foliage of the mind. Good stuff indeed. I look forward to our next intersection.

Lastly I would like to take this moment to say goodbye to my dear friend Bill Kennard who passed away last week in Athens. He was eighty but that sure doesn’t seem so old any more. Fair wind and following seas brother… It’s been an honor being your friend.
…and indeed, we shall move onward just for today…
So Marty Balin is coming to the ranch in March Jorma ? That should be an interesting two nights. You must be expecting a big turnout.
Dear Jorma,
So sorry for your loss, may your friend RIP.
I was in your old hood up in Woodstock this weekend.
Beautiful weather in Upstate NY!
Stay Well

Carlo: I can’t jump on a plane to Helsinki either.
I’m sure Jorma’s concerts there will be wonderful and he will give us all the update and photos, here on his blog.
Hope to see you in Milano next Summer.@carlo pagliano
Jorma, just got back from a couple days upstate and the mountains was peak last weekend – a blaze of color – before going to sleep for the winter. So you should be peaking.(can’t remember the last time I said that) Sorry about your friend. But if he was righteous – he’s alright.
Thanks Barbara dear, how are you! It’s all i can do for this compulsory & awful thing that don’t allow me to jump on a plane, means i will not be in Helsinki for the two concerts Jorma will perform there on 29 and 30 of October, i’d rather die. For this is inner. Stay well Barbara!
Thanks for the opportunity, Jorma!
love love love a good dancing-bones song. chris smither’s “train home” is a delightful example. hope that soothes your spirit.
That’s a very poetic comment,Carlo!@carlo pagliano
Beautiful photos Jorma. I love FPR and will get back there as soon as I put down the banjo and re-focus back to six strings. Hugs to all……

Are you coming for the New York shows Doug? @doug mlyn
Beautiful pictures Jorma. “Fall foliage of the mind” I like that. We are on the 2nd day of a three day classic nor’easter so we are losing some foliage up this way and there is some minor flooding but nothing to serious yet. The first anniversary of hurricane Sandy is just a little over two weeks away so folks are a bit jittery as can be expected. Sorry about the passing of your friend Bill. He was certainly blessed to be able to count you as a friend.
Be well;
John B
Jorma: sorry to hear about your friend. Sending condolences. I love the morning photos. Today I’m counting my blessings as life is good and I get to see Hot Tuna twice in November and on different coasts :). Electric and acoustic, doesn’t get any better than that! It’s been a while and I need my dose of live Hot Tuna! as you always say Onward!
While life may be ephemeral, it is often the brief moments that conversly become timeless. As a lifelong Hot Tuna affeciando, I can recall moments of shows, songs that live in my head, that for me at least are timeless. Certainly your body of work, your longevity, the moments you have given of yourself to us all are enduring and perpetual and certainly long lived. I heard somewhere that “life is change” and while nothing stays the same and eventually everything ends, I like to think “not yet”.
So keep on going, I for one am glad, your music continues to be one of the best things in my life
See you soon down the road
My condolences Captain.
So sorry for your loss Jorma. As we age, we all are losing dear friends, it’s hard. May you find comfort for your grief from your beautiful family:-)
Love the photo’s. Hope to see you this year…keep on rocking!
I’m sorry for the passing of your friend, Jorma.
The photos are beautiful. The ranch is magical.
Be strong, stay in the moment, God Bless.
