A broadblast from the Fur Peace Ranch… before I close out the tour:

Hi friends……we have met our goal and beyond for our Kickstarter project. Just thought I’d say there are only five days left in this campaign to be a part of this amazing project and still some great gifts left that we will retire if they are not spoken for. Check out the project and the special gifts for your support…. and thank you…

Don’t forget the cyclorama in Gettysberg Pa. Cycloramas were the movie theatres of their day. The one in in Gettysberg is magnificent. Tunas summer tour scheduale in north Jersey and Pennsylvania comes close to Gettysberg and this year will be the 150th anniversary of the Battle Of Gettysberg. @Rhea J.

Very cool to see this project fully funded! Using the silo is a practical and dramatic way to display the art and artifacts of an era. The Mercer Museum in Bucks County, PA was founded by Henry Mercer and is the first American museum to present visual displays in a cylinder.
Mr. Mercer collected everyday items that were in use in the middle of the 19th century. A short clip follows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPSs5M8P2No
The Guggenheim Museum in NYC was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and he, too, employed the cylindrical shape to great effect.

A great idea to cast some light on an era that has been mercilessly negatively plundered and at the same time reach kids in your area-and everywhere-with the notion that art of all kinds expands the human potential. Again, great idea!

I’m glad you’re home, too, Jorma, though not as much as you are!

My wife and I, joined by her sister who lives in Chicago, enjoyed both shows last night! The Old Town School of Folk Music is a great venue (at least it is when Hot Tuna plays as I haven’t driven up there to see anyone else).
