Myron catches 40 winks on the way to Tampere
Checked out of the hotel in Helsinki day before yesterday, drove up to Tampere and played another show with Canned Heat in one of the most beautiful concert venues I have ever seen or heard.

Check this hall out

Beautiful evening in Mid Finland. After our set, we drove to the airport outside of Helsinki and went to sleep for three hours then back to the airport and off to Heathrow.

Sunrise at Heathrow
The flight from Helsinki to Heathrow was uneventful… and Heathrow was, as always, very crowded. The flight was a non stop from London to an Francisco as an eleven hour non stop. Old airplane, crowded… seats big enough for an eight year old… good times. We made it though and so did all our luggage and guitars. Really good times.
My first stop after we checked into the hotel was the Mifune in Japan Town. Tanin Soba and pickled vegetables. Yummy…

The pagoda in the Peace Plaza... Japan Town, SF
A quick hello to the Pagoda after dinner and then to the hotel for some much needed sleep.

Morning in Japan Town
After a yummy breakfast in the hotel, Barry and I took a walk around.

Hello Kitty in the Kintetsu Center

Yeah Buddy
Walking around… enjoying being back home in the States and doing our darnedest to beat the jet lag.
Good times… Onward!
Hey Jorma, Any plans to come to Asheville this year? Noticed you have visited in my old home city Tampere. Asheville 1:18am… All the Best.
The Flying V and the Explorer. Gibson telling Fender ‘see, we can be cool too!’
@johno
I remember the flying V from back in the day . A show at the Wolman ice rink in Central Park on a sizzling summer day is one show that comes to mind.
good trip…welcome back….have a good show 2nite in SF. see u in nYC soon..HFT
Jorma, your relatives and ancestors must’ve been mighty proud to have one of
their own ancestors play in The Helsinki Hall of Culture. Quite an honor for you! Doesn’t the ceiling of the Tampere look like the body of a guitar, with the
strings and fret board(?). Kinda looks like Jack’s Flying V from years ago.
Welcome home Jorma. The Tampere concert hall looks outstanding. How on earth did you endure an 11 hour non-stop flight to San Francisco in a seat designed for an eight year old? On the bright side all of your eqipment arrived along with you. I picked up my Beacon ticket yeasterday and for me the countdown has started also!
I have started to count down the days to the NYC show. It is really great the photos and memories that you share. I hope today’s show rocks. My best to Jack and the band. Love you guys and God bless
Rock Them All Hign Tonight Jorma!
The hall does look amazing, would love to visit sometime, welcome back to the States and a rested inspired trip to you all on the West coast -;0)
Jorma, welcome home. Boy, that music hall looks like a spaceship – I bet the acoustics were incredible. Both you and Myron look totally bushed. That little “buddy” is pikachu from pokemon. Hope your feeling better. See you at the Beacon – when you rock NYC.
Thanks guys for a wonderful show! I missed the Tuna show in Pori Jazz 1992 and finally I saw you playing live. Of course I saw Jorma & Barry couple of years ago in Helsinki but I had never seen Hot Tuna live before.
I was there in a front row with my two good friends, both guitarists in our band where I play bass. Now they understand why I appreciate Jack so much. They already knew why Jorma is the best guitarist on this planet. Barry was amazing too, as always.
Canned Heat gave us a great show as well. Thanks guys for the great time & wonderful memories!
