Jerry Garcia, Mike Bloomfield and Me ca 1966-7
People send me great pictures and stuff… I have no recollection where this one was taken. San Francisco, obviously but other than that, details are lost in antiquity. There we were… youngsters in the throws of life, just waiting to make it happen… looking down a road filled with endless summers.

Robbin Ford & me... a couple of years ago.

Yeah, time marches on if we’re lucky. In all these years, no matter what happened, I never looked away from the music, and here I am today, in New Jersey getting ready to play The Outpost In The Burbs with my buddy Barry Mitterhoff. The good times are still darned good!

Jorma, have you heard about this article I copied and pasted below? It seems that the wife of the Israeli Ambassador to the US knew you and JA back in the day.

Mike Bloomfield …. the “Electric Flag” …. man, I still miss him. Jorma, thanks for the photographic trigger of memories.

I guess that Jorma and I will not be getting an A in spelling here.@bruce
Welcome back to the Garden State Jorma.
Since my mid-teens, you’ve ben a huge inspiration to me, Jorma.
yes, I consider myself lucky to still be here to have your continued inspiration in these later times. Grace is with those of us fortunate enough to continue on and share the gifts we have been given. Hope I can get in this weekend to hear you play. It is always an emotion provoking treat for me. Thank you
it’s Robben Ford….not Robbin….just sayin’…he’s a beast…
Back in the late 1980s/early 1990s, I did some PR at the original China Club (next door, down in the basement) to the Beacon Theater.
Robbin Ford showed up to play at a couple of our “Pro-Jams” (Wed. nights, with proceeds going to charity).
If my memory serves me well.
Does it, Robbin?
Dear Jorma,
Thank you for never looking away from the music.
Can’t wait to see you on Saturday at the Winery!
Stay well

Will be making my way to the Outpost in a bit. I know it will be a good show, always is.
Captain Trips, the Blue Jew and the Captain…ah. Love those monikers. Amazing guitarists just beginning their journeys, some long, some not so long. Keep it going Jorma!
I’m looking forward to the music… Saturday at the City Winery 🙂
So happy you never looked away Jorma! Look so forward to seeing Hot Tuna in MD…we are all so lucky to still have you playing for all of us!Thanks!!!
HOT TUNA is looking good and strong and ready for the road.
Rock Them high JORMA !!!
In the first pic I see two guys (at that time of the photo, slightly younger than you) that for whatever reasons have not been around for a long time. I’m glad you’re still around to play a gig tonight.
How does that saying go, “if you get confused listen to the music play.” Was looking at the tour page yesterday I was just thinking how awesome it is that Jack and yourself are still playing (not that I ever doubted it) and…. at the top of your game! Good times for you, and also great times for us fans! Keep on Rocking!
Many blessings on you.
It’s always been about the music..sometimes the run-ins, but always the music….
🙂
