Yeah… the Seva benefit last Saturday night was supreme. We saw so many great folks… got to play so much great music!

David, Jorma and Linda
Getting to see David and Linda LaFlamme after all this years was great. Getting to play with David was the frosting on the cake. Some fun indeed!

The Dublin House may be the one of the places I was thinking about. Do they have Hot Tuna in the jukebox Cyndy?
The museums one of my favorite places johno. Used to take the kids there all the time when they were little. I was just talking to my friend last night about that place. We were out to eat and the ceiling was painted a blue with white clouds. It reminded me of the bird room at the museum. i@johno
I’ve been to Café Luxembourg and it’s a little too quiet and pricy. I like Café Frida on 77th and Columbus. Good Mexican and a nice big bar area with good margaritas. You may have to jump in a cab for the 4-5 blocks, it’s just across the street from the Museum of Natural History
c
I”M going to try to make it. Have to work half the day. I don’t know the names of the places Cyndy but there is a place just up the corner that has the gas lights out front and another place that is directly behind the Beacon a block or two in from Central Park West. Maybe you know of them. You let us know what you decide. @Cyndy Consentino
Good. I will do my best to be there. @doug mlyn
For Tuna friends going to Beacon show on 11/23/13
Who would like to get together before the show , a bunch of
people will be meeting up. So far location has not been chosen
but there are 3 choices right now: The Ale House, Dublin House, or
Cafe Luxembourg.
If anyone has other suggestions, feel free to post!
I will post the choice here next week
@John B
john B: yes, I think we have a group of people trying to get together for Sat. talk to Cyndy I think she is lining up a place
Doug are you still coming in for the Beacon shows? @doug mlyn
duh…I was just thinking, Jack’s birthday is next April. Only 5 months away. I forgot his b’day is in April, a lot closer than I thought. Yipppeee!
Chauffeur Blues – Bob Weir can sing White Rabbit
Peace, Love All Ways
I think it would be cool for Jack to invite his favorite bass players to sit in a song for the 70th bash!
@John B
I can’t wait for that one!
@John B
I can’t wait for that one!
Be a big ol wing ding for Jacks 70th birthday.
Wing ding! Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies used to throw Wingdings . @johno
1 year to go before Jack’s 70th Birthday Bash @ the Beacon. That oughta be another big wing ding. This year is gonna be a prelude? Theresa did a great White Rabbit in Jamaica this past summer.(hint) She’s got some set of lungs. I bet Jorma has a couple surprises up his sleeve for the Beacon this year. I can’t believe Jack is 69, he doesn’t look a day over 40! ok…maybe 45!!
Jorma,any special guests at The Beacon? If Teresa is one how about White Rabbit?
@Tim from Philly
check your mail, please, tim
The first night is sold out but their are tickets for the second night. @johno
@John B
That does sound really far out. Marty playing some JA tunes and Jack and Jorma playing joining him. Sounds like an Airplane reunion. Be like stepping back in time. Any tix left?
Thanks for the update Hamneggs i was hoping someone would go. I will be at the Ranch for Hot tuna and Marty. It will be my first trip. @Hamneggs
Left out Fat Angel

Rust Never Sleeps, and neither do the Jawas!
I saw Jorma at the Old Waldorf in 78 also Webster. We saw Jack with SVT also in 78 or early 79. They were a couple of busy years for us. Cow Palace and the Rust Never Sleeps Tour as well as the Dead back at Winterland after Egypt and the finale for Winterland with the Dead; Blues Brothers and the Riders. Wish i had just a little bit of the energy now that i had back then ! @Webster Hogeland
You are absolutely correct Cat ! @Cat
Wish I could be there. It’s Syracuse and Connecticut.
@Cat
Syracuse and Jay peak. Both great places. I skiied Jay Peak yrs ago. Almost froze to death. I’m looking for the acoustic show in NYC. Got the Beacon covered. Thanx anyway Cat.
2 miracles–11/29 and 12/1: i have a single free ticket for each of these shows. leave a message here and we’ll figure the rest out. peace

What a great organization! Thank you for helping them.
…and…
What a treat to see David and Linda, lookin’ good after all these years.
Are you going to both shows in the city Cyndy? @Cyndy Consentino
Dear Jorma,
Wonderful post!
Nice to see you back with your San Fran friends!
David and Linda LaFlamme would be wonderful at FPR!
Best,
Cyndy
Recall David Laflame opening for you Jorma circa…1978 at the Old Waldorf. He had to put up with folks calling for “White Bird” throughout the set. Can’t remember whether he did it or not but he must’ve. He had a bass player who bore a striking resemblance to Lindsay Wagner, better known as the Bionic Woman… The things one remembers.
Good stuff, Jorma. Was David La Flamme the annoying vioinists in a stuffy restaurant on TV’s “Frasier”?
Great shot of you and Wavy Gravy Jorma.It must have been wonderful for you to get togeather with old friends . Good to see David Laflamme is still out there making music. I last saw him at the Tribal Stomp back in 77 or 78. Bombay Calling ! It would be nice if you had David and Linda at the Ranch sometime Jorma. I am happy for you and i will see you in New York.
Man, saw those names and White Bird just popped into my mind, unbidden.
It was an honor to mix monitors for you.
