It might have been The Chance in Poughkeepsie. Jorma made many faces smile there in that time period

Amen to next year. Clearwater is the best – I was there on Sat and the Rainbow stage rocked with old and new – Judy Collins, Mavis Staples, Bromberg. Hot Tuna of course and then for the new – Antibalas and The Lone Bellow – both excellent. I was mostly in the activist area on Sunday at the Planned Parenthood tablee – that marching band was very cool. I walked by Pete when I was leaving – all in all a wonderful time and I encourage everyone to try to make it next year! having Tuna there just made it all the better.

    Hey Jorma,

Hope you had a nice Father’s Day. My daughter surprised me with tickets for the Egg this Friday, she’s so excited that she is finally going to see the band she has heard about her whole life. I’ve never been there but a co-worker said there is alot of cool stuff to see around there. Going to be a little strange rockin out with my daughter but really looking forward to a great day and an awesome show. Hoping to catch New Song again…..Does anyone know a good place to eat dinner?
    Take care and Safe travels
    See you Friday

What a great weekend. Before my Jorma comments I just want to say if you haven’t been to the Clearwater Fest come next year.Saturday Judy Collins singing Will you go Lassie go was stunning , Bromberg – a hawk or falcon perched itself in the trees as he came on -enough said. Tuna anytime anywhere for me but Sunday I had finished my peacekeeping duties and Buffy Saint Marie opening with a great band Rainbow Family songs Bury my heart at wounded knee and wandering over to see the Rude Mechanical Orchestra march through the activist camp playing We shall overcome in between the Salsa Band at the Dance Tent the kick ass Bayou Cajun Rockabilly band, past the Gospel singers, the jams all day into the night by the music petting zoo, past Larry and the Levon music over to the Sloop stage while hearing the Clearwater Choir sing this Land to sit and Listen to Guy Davis, David Anram, Tom Chapin,Buffy,a Klezmatic Fiddler play a Tribute to Richie Havens set and towards the end of that hear Tuna roll up behind me from the Rainbow stage as Kris Kristofferson joined the havens tribute, Tuna in my left ear and the Havens jam in my right was pure magic. I walked over from Freedom into Children of Zion ,my personal favorite reverend Gary Davis Tune. Amen!!!!Amen!!
one last though Pete Seeger talking very low and slow into Where have all the flowers gone and the crowd picking it up in sing along overwhelmed me. Peace Love All Ways

I had to tear myself away during Come Back Baby to go celebrate Father’s Day and my niece’s bday. I love my family but I missed Larry Campbell?? Saturday’s set was great, Barbeque King and Candyman are faves. looking forward to Norwalk on Saturday.

In 1987 I was sailing aboard Clearwater as a Mate of the Month and we docked somewhere along the Hudson River, don’t really remember the town, and Jorma was playing that evening, solo acoustic at the local watering hole. Another one of those shows along the long River of Time, I guess… Glad the boat’s still afloat, the music still plays and we all Keep On, Keeping on.
