Wavy opens the show
Barry and Jack and I were at a Seva dinner. The gentleman to the left of Barry asked, ‘What do you do?’ ‘Play mandolin,’ Barry said. ‘You?’ It turned out the Steven Jones was part of the team that eradicated smallpox. Hmmm… play music? Not bad. Save millions of lives? Easy question.

When I left I was 11.

The night before the Seva Woodstock reunion benefit 1994 concert on Knob Hill,
we were at a Ben&Jerry’s shop, doing a charity scoop event.
My friends from the BBC were in town to cover the concert, so I invited them to the Ben&Jerry’s scoop event.
As they took a photo of me in front of the ice-cream counter, Bobby leaned-in, while scooping behind the counter and “photo-bombed” me.
I have the photo as evidence. We didn’t refer to it as “photo-bombing” back in those days.
It was just:” Why is Bob Weir leaning-into the photo, making that funny face?”
Ah, those were the good old days.

Loved the Seva show at The Fillmore Sat night. You guys always sound even better than the last time. If your ever in Japantown in the future and are in the mood for Thai food, please come to our restaurant. Its Jitlada Thai Cuisine on Buchanan st. You can almost see it from your Japantown photos. My wife who is from Thailand loves Hot Tuna also and would really be thrilled to cook for you someday. Again great great show at The Fillmore. Thanks

Eleven hours in airliner seating must have been a trial. I just got back from San Francisco to Iowa Tuesday and the ninety minute flights about did me in.
It’s got to be the jet lag catching up with you Jorma.
