Every day is a good day for a gratitude list… but today on Thanksgiving, it just seems obviously necessary. My life is an embarrassment of riches in many ways but even in more meager times, there was always something to be thankful for. At the head of my list is my family. My wife Vanessa without whom my life would be a barren desert. She has been there for me since we first met a quarter of a century ago. Good times and bad she has always sheltered me with love. She is always my beacon on the road of life. She is the woman of my dreams… and I’m not even sleeping!
I’m grateful for my son Zach who quite simply, is just a great young man. It is my honor to be able to watch him grow into manhood and to be, in some small way, a part of the process.
I’m grateful for my daughter Izze who never ceases to bring light and wonder into her Dad’s life.

I'm grateful Izze can write notes like this!
(I’m grateful to Ray Hurlbut and those like him who serve our country in it’s hour of need. at 92, Ray is one of the oldest living vets in the state of Ohio.)
I’m grateful that Izze’s eyes can see the world like this:

Move over Matisse
And this…

Aurora?
And this…

Pink cloud
The love and gratitude that I have for my family cannot be measured!
I’m grateful that when my life was cloaked in self inflicted misery G_d allowed me to bring joy into the life of others through my music.
I’m grateful that music has has always sustained me as part of a higher road even when I wandered.
I’m grateful that I have lived in the place of my dreams for more than 20 years. I hope to be there in the end.
I am grateful for the country of which I am a citizen.
I am grateful for the health and well being that has followed me thus far in life.
I am grateful to have so many truly great friends.
I could go on… and I probably will after dinner.
Suffice it to say, I am one of the most fortunate of men.
Thanks should be given each and every day, but on this day I raise the flag of gratitude and stand with my hand on my heart!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving… each and every one of you!
Thanks jorma, when a couple people come together they can make a great deal of difference in peoples lives…. when a group comes together like the Fur Peace Ranch, man you can rock the very foundations of the world. I’ve learned a lot from knowing you and often refer to your words of wisdom, through word or song, they have risen me up many times. bless today, Jah knows, Kevin =i=

Thank You Jorma for the reminder regarding gratitude. I try my best to make it the cornerstone of my life but I am not successful all of the time. I believe that it is from gratitude and love that all of Gods gifts flow. Thanks for a great 2013 Jorma . See you in 2014 !

So well said, as always. I am thankful to you Jorma, for the life enhancing experience of For Peace Ranch.
Wonderful thoughts Jorma.
I truly hope you have a remarkable day with your family and friends today and every day. I appreciate you sharing your public and private thoughts as I have been able to see you grow into the person you are today over the past 37yrs. I have watched you perform, I have seen you lay it all out mostly in your music countless times thru the good and bad for all, along with a few brief encounters of wich you were always gracious, and now all of these together being performer, confidant and friend to many, teacher, a wonderful husband and father to your children as I know you are. You have a lot on the plate and You have paid a price along the way no doubt but You are a gifted person and we are lucky to have you in our lives. Several years ago you shared a pic on your phone of Izze with me when she was just a year, you just had a glow that said it all and regardless of what we have done in the past, it is who you are now. You also are so lucky and are notably truly proud to have Vanessa at your side as is she. I am truly happy for you and your family.
I can tell you that seeing you both at the Beacon & Infinity over the past few days has recharged my inner soul as my Dad passed in September, he loved music and really enjoyed your acoustic music and I know he was with me.
Thank You for all you have done.
Happy and safe travels thru the upcoming Holidays to You and all your Family and friends.
Peace,
Rich
