The Spring wind at the FPR

The Spring wind at the FPR

Yesterday I was getting my hair cut in town. I knew that it was an early release date for the Elementary School kids and Vanessa picked Izze up and met me in town so she could come back to the house and hang with the Old Man while Ness worked a the Ranch. ‘Dad, I’ve been thinking,’ Izze said to me with a serious look on her face. ‘I think this would be a great day for a motorcycle ride,’ she continued. ‘Wow, sweetie! Are you serious? If you are let’s go home and get the bike and grab some gone!’ I could hardly believe my ears. ‘Just one thing,’ she went on. ‘Don’t drive crazy fast.’ I reassured her. ‘I’ll drive any way you want me to!’

We went home, parked the truck and got the scooter out. She went upstairs and got her helmet, and Harley jacket while I did a preflight check on the rig. I always keep the bikes ready to go. I never put them away for the winter. Oil, tire pressure, suspension pressure… good. Let’s go.

After about twenty miles, izze wanted a snack so we stopped by the Fur Peace Ranch in time for milk and Girl Scout cookies. Snacking satisfaction achieved, we took the back roads and another 15 miles to home. Like the Singing Brakeman Jimmy would way, ‘Good times here but better on down the road.’ Scooter riding credo indeed… of course, at the end of the day, it’s always good to come home.

Shiny side up... always!

Shiny side up... always!

That’s my girl.

Screw it… let’s ride!

    Jorma:
    More new photos, please.
Write whatever you want on your blog, just keep in mind how much I love those greens and blues.

    P.S.:
I will be sending another book to you next week.
Please read it and pass it along to Jack (if you think,as I do,that it will be beneficial and comforting to him.)

Very cool Jorma! Way to go Izze! One of (actually 3) of my best memories was taking my boys for a ride. They are 21X2(twins) & 22 now and are looking to get their licenses now! Goes by so fast, enjoy every moment. Peace

From another fellow Aries, Happy Birthday Jack! A wonderful man with humor, grace, humility, and the best darn bass player I’ve ever heard! Thank you for the decades of inspiration you’ve given me and so many others. All the best to you. Rock on!

A very heartfelt Birthday wish to Jack. Jorma, looks like a new bike ? did you turn in the Fat Bob? Great color great Bike, hope you get to ride as often as you can. Still fixing mine up from the deer “incident” last fall, but it’s getting there. Your little girl will remember these rides for the rest of her life! Sorry to her about your good friend, Jim. We have a blue-fronted Amazon who will probably outlive us, always seems to pitch in a comment at the right time.

Well I guess I’m not the only Aries baby in the bunch. Happy Birthday to Jack. I’m just a little ways behind but not too far. Great looking bike.

Happy Birthday Jack!!! You don’t look 50! Keep on Truckin’. Why don’t we have a weekend next April @ the Beacon for Jack as well. What a wing-ding that would be.

    @Kate Sullivan
I’d say it took 15 mins, 10 for BSing, 5 for the trim.

Said a fond (and very sad) farewell to my 20 1/2 year old conure Seamus on Monday. He was a hell of a friend. The last time I took him camping up in the Sierra he flat rocked out to `Steady as She Goes’.
