Buddy's Diner, Somerville
Yesterday we hit Buddy’s for Breakfast. I’m a huge fan of Diner Americana so I’m going to post a bunch of pics from yesterday’s breakfast.

I wanted to make sure you get a chance to read the article linked above about the 100th Anniversary of the Somerville Theatre. I saw you Jack and Barry there at the show in June, second row. Nice vibe, the venue is unpretentious, a “lived in” place as I describe it, and I hope you agree…
Peace
Okay Cyndy sounds good . I’ll look for ya!
@Cyndy Consentino
John B – ok great I look forward to meeting up with you at State Theater! I will let you know where I am sitting!@John B
Doug and Cyndy i’m sure i have that album somewhere .And if i don’t i will go get it I will be there Cyndy . It’s only about three- four miles from where i work so just as soon as i leave work i’m heading right to the show. @Cyndy Consentino
Go Tuna Go
just a waiting for electric in PA in July
Jorma, see you tonight @ Bethel. Here is a wacky request, White Rabbit with Jill, still time to rehearse1
Hello Jorma,
I’ve been following your blog and reviewing set-lists with great anticipation for the upcoming Saturday night show at the Norwalk Concert Hall. I’m pretty “Jacked-up” for this show (pun intended) The venue seats 1,000+ and it looks like it’s going to be a sell-out. I’m bringing some friends…..Tuna Newbies. As an intro for them……I showed them this youtube clip of you and Jack doing Mann’s Fate about 44 years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ0onxQIY_w Geez…..I love that song. I’m so looking forward to you, Jack and Barry making everybody’s jaws drop on Saturday night. I know you guys will bring your “A” game. You always do! Thanks for the musical bliss!
John B -I’m going to State Theater also! Hope to see you there!
p.s. Doug is right about “River of Time” it is a great album!
@John B
John: You should buy the whole album, not a plug for Jorma’s album or anything but besides Izze’s Lullaby, the whole album is really great. Revisited today on the way home and it really put me in a good mood.

@mrlbem
I really enjoy the pictures that you post Jorma of the theatres that you play. Some of them are beautiful. Great stuff really. Nice shots of the Somerville Theatre . I am looking forward to seeing Tuna at the State Theatre in North Brunswick N. J. next month. I haven’t been there yet and am looking forward to it.
Dear Jorma.
The Somerville is lovely!
What did you have at Buddy’s Diner?
Tomorrow in Bethel should be beautiful;)
Stay well,
Cyndy
Jorma,
If you’re a huge fan of Diner Americana, and you’re still up in the Boston area, try Wilson’s Diner on Main Street in Waltham. Not too far from Brandeis University. They make the best egg sandwiches. Gotta love the old railroad dining car stylle diners.
I have to pay closer attention ! Thanks Jorma . @Jorma
@John B
only Acoustic I believe John
Thanks for another outstanding performance at the Somerville Theater last night. The acoustic sound in this old theater is amazing. Jorma, Jack & Barry were in perfect balance and alignment both musically and Chiropractically. Jill Sobule rocked before and after the Tuna set. See you next time…
The Chubby Decker would be outlawed under Obamacare and possesion of such a sandwich would make you subject to a heavy fine; imprisonment or both. @Steve Levenson
Out here in KC we have Chubby’s. Their special is the Chubby decker, a BLT on top of a sausage lettuce & tomato. You get a free angioplasty with every 5th one. 🙂
Thanks Doug. Just at the accoustic shows or electric as well? @doug mlyn
@John B that song’s been around awhile, and it’s beautiful
Off topic, but I want to let you know that Vintage Guitar just reviewed the Jack Casady Bass in the July issue. They love it!
“The thought that has gone into [it] is admirable.”
“…workmanship is flawless…”
“…custom made for melodic phrases and exploratory lines.”
“…hits home runs in looks, feel, and tone, not to mention its very attractive street price ($699).”
Congratulations to Jack on his highly successful collaboration with Epiphone.
Izze’s Lullaby ? Is that a new one Jorma? I don’t recall seeing that one on a set list before.
Hi John…
It’s on my River Of Time
Let’s see that encore with Jill on Saturday night in Norwalk!!
That looks like a real old-school diner. Not to many of those out west. Nothing like a good hearty breakfast to start the day! (as I eat my oatmeal).
What did you have for breakfast Jorma? Buddies looks like a fine establishment and as an afficionado of classic diners i will be sure to visit Buddies the next time i am in Somerville. See you next month.
