It seems like a lifetime ago, but it was only two days. Anyway… the Rialto in Tuscon was our final gig with Leon Russell and his merry band of men. We’ll be back on the road with the boys in the Spring. Here’s a shot of us backstage:

Leon, Jack C., Jacky Wessel, Brandon Holder, Beau Charron, Me and Barry Mitterhoff

Leon Russell, and his guys are a noble bunch of fellows.

Fresh Air played an interview from ’85 today that was truly a joy to listen to, particularly the part when he stood up to HUAC.

Pete Seeger taught me that the reason you stand up and fight is not that you will change the world directly with your action. Your fight will be seen by those you may never know and they will be inspired to fight. That’s also the magic of the music and the lyrics. A musician/songwriter may never know those who have been changed by their artistry. But they can be sure that their songs transform our lives.

Time is dashing through the fish tank like never before, the 50 ‘s were easily slower and maybe with a hint of old eternity thrown in the air. The spectacular thing is that JORMA has always been with us. Miracles go as far as we see them (Grace Slick), and every day we see one thousand times Jorma playing and singing different songs and you can even turn the right corner and there Jorma is!

I am saddened by the loss of Pete Seeger. A noble, dedicated man-musician-social activist.
    May he rest in peace.
    His legacy is indelible.
I’m always happy to see “Sally, where’d you get your liquor from” and “Manns Fate” get into the mix.
Jorma-Jack-Barry…have a great swing through California.
I wish I could be there.
    Peace.

Mr. Seeger was the voice of Peace and Reason at a time when there was precious little of each to go around; Heaven has gained another Prince. Safe travels on your next journey, sir, we thank you for all you have done here. Rest well, m

    Dear Jorma,

I heard both you and Jack were sick this past tour and I just wanted to say Thank You for all you guys do. I know what it’s like to have to go to work when your sick and it stinks. It definitely is appreciated…..Also how did Izze do on making her goal, what an outstanding and thoughtful young lady. I hope my son and son-in-law can benefit from her thoughtfulness one day, nothing like getting Girl Scout cookies from home so please let Izze know how much she is appreciated also..
Take care of yourself and thanks again.
