Angels At The Ranch

Angels At The Ranch

We’re busting hump here… 9 basics done…

A lovely fall accompanies the music!

A lovely fall accompanies the music!

Good music is being made…

You start a project and no matter what you envision, one you need to keep your heart open to messages from your higher power… and they are there if you listen.

I love this time of year...

I love this time of year...

Recording here in my back yard is something new for me… I could get used to it. Yes, it’s a long day of work, but at least I get to sleep in my on bed.

The Station Break Cafe

The Station Break Cafe

As one of my friends said yesterday as we were working late… ‘This is really work for you!’ Indeed, it is. It has little to do with live music in terms of execution… but it sure beats digging ditches.

Making music is a death defying act!

Making music is a death defying act!

No tip off yet on the tunes… many of them songs no one has ever heard me play live before.

Jorma at the office...

Jorma at the office...

Now, if you’re really a guitar geek… maybe you can tell what song I’m playing by the capo position and the chord shape… hmmmm…

Teresa gets ready to sing and make me sound good!

Teresa gets ready to sing and make me sound good!

That’s about it for now… I’m busy… I’m tired… but it’s going great!

Onward!

So stoked for Jack’s 70th. Hugely love Theresa. Her and Larry’s “Lamps” is goosebumpy. Rock on Brother Jorma, we will see you I hope at the grand finale in 5 weeks!

    It’s obviously Heart of Stone…
    or Chauffer Blues. LOL
    or
since I’m a freak not a geek (least a guitar one anyway)
A song I will definitely like (a lot)
    Peace
    Love All Ways

    @jim hitchcock
I like the progression but I also am a big fan of hearing todays players go back to the “good old days” with just a minimum of equipment and an old Ampex.

My hope is Bar Room Crystal Ball, In My Dreams, and the latest version of Keep your Lamps Trimmed and Burnin’. Either way you know I’m buying it so as always, Remember to Have Fun! Fun always translates well!

As far as guitar geek goes, as they say, it takes one to know one.
As Groucho used to say…”I resemble that comment”.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that looks like….. “Barroom Crystal Ball”.

good stuff…great news.. So looking at Jormas chords and capo position… coupled with The great vocals of Teresa Williams,, they must be giving White Rabbit a quick acoustic run through. Yeah like I have clue.. So its a joy to know you all are working on some “new” material.
.and like a friend of mine said,,no matter how “old” the tune is if folks have not heard it yet, its all new again.. be well.. and thanks.

Can’t comment on songs I haven’t heard yet, but would appreciate Tuna adding a couple of oldies to the upcoming Beacon set list… Walkin’ Blues and Somebody to Love.

    Echo that!

The progression from the early days of a couple of mics (and 3 track recording!) to what we have now is enormously interesting. Well, to us nerdy types, anyway 🙂

Looks like a beautiful early fall day at the FPR. Jorma it would be great if some of the basic recording equipment info is shared also such as the mics etc. Us technical types really look forward to that. Would love to know how they are micing you.
