Well, we had a rare day off here in Shibuya. It was not a travel day. What a concept!

Rest area on the way from Nagoya
Yesterday was a travel day… but we got to Shibuya in time for some ramen at Samurai.

Lets's eat!

Ditto!

And here it is!

And here it was...
Samurai was the real deal. Delicious and cheap. After dining Jack and Myron and I went for a walk.

Shibuya by night
A great town to walk in, day or night.

An American in Shibuya
A good dinner, a good walk and a good night’s sleep. Today, Jack and I had lunch at a rib joint of all things… and again, delicious.

Ribs, Japanese style
This evening, the folks from Thumbs Up hosted us at a fabulous seafood restaurant called Kaikaya.

Spearheading the assault

The lovely Arisa Safu
We met Arisa when we played McCabe’s some months back. Her Dad owns Thumbs Up and she and her Mom took us all out to dinner. Now Arisa is a formidable musical talent in her own right. You need to check out her work! She is a dandy for sure!

words to live by

Delicious

And this...
The quality of the food was matched and surpassed by our hostesses.

What a dinner

Special chicken...
There’s a story behind the rubber chicken, but I’ll save that for another time.

Good times

Now we're done

Well, that was our day today. Hard work, but somebody’s got to do it. Tomorrow is our lecture/show at Tokyo Women’s Plaza Hall.
I’m exhausted… time for bed!
Richard:
I’m signing-off on you. There is no use for me to continue to try to be
reasonable, explaining overseas touring, to you.
You have no idea what’s involved and the time, work and effort that is required.
You have no idea how difficult overseas airline/touring travel is.
Even after the flight: work needs to be done.
Myron got sick and I can assure you, that it’s not easy to be queasy, overseas.@Richard
Dear Jorma,
Thanks for all the great pics!! The food looks so yummy!!
Glad you guys are having a great time. It sure looks wonderful!
Stay well,
Cyndy

Good Lord I though I was the only fan of Sven. Rich Koz never fails to get that smile back on my face. Ah for the good old days of Chicago radio. I think I hear somebody hollering “It’s ChickenMan!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
I’m so hungry for Japanese food after reading this post – I’m going to the local sushi joint tonite.
Sake to me.
As usual…Great pictures and updates. Thanks for that,as I know it’s a lot of work.By the way,all the food looks superb but something bout those ribs and garnish set me off.And yes Jorma I agree you will be back again cause You will always be enjoyed over there and tough older pros like you guys don’t winge about airline travel. Thanks again, your post was a nice start to my day.
Those pix are just radiating GREAT VIBES. What an awesome dinner and more !!! The blessings in life are numerous and plentiful.
Japan really is like no other place in the whole world.
The Japanese adhere to the principle of “Mottainai”, meaning “waste nothing”.
I have a drawer full of “furoshikis” which are the nice reusable cloths that gifts are wrapped in. No wasting paper.
good times! thanks for sharing 🙂
The food looks delicious and the photos look like magazine and book quality.
Itadakimasu!
Looks great. Good food, good people. Oh, and good music.
Domo arigato!
This blog is a hoot!
Many good laughs.
Seeing you guys so happy makes me smile.
Is the rubber chicken a Svengoolie reference?
I’m going to Japan!!!
