We had such a wonderful time in Japan on this trip. Of course it is great to come home as well. Home schooling our daughter today. Vocal coaching later and then piano.
Hit the ground running.
In the next day or so I’ll do a more complete wrap up. Gotta join Izze on the Ohio Virtual Academy site.
More anon…

Sayonara to our Japanese friends!

We love you all…
Onward!
Dear Jorma and Jack, Thank you for coming to Japan. We all had wonderful time. And thank you for taking your time long after the show for greeting and signing the autographs. Hope you had a chance to taste the green tea cookies from Kyoto. My only regret is that I had no chance to say goodbye to Myron in Yokohama because he stayed at the hotel. As Jack said, Hope we will see you guys again in Japan soon, maybe as an electric band? Please don’t forget to ask Marty to play “You wear your dresses too short” !
Thanks for the wonderful blog post, Jorma. It was great meeting you in San Diego, having fun, and learning from you and everyone else there. Your words are humble and so true. Though I do believe there IS something special that the musician or creative artist brings to our culture and world. Cheers and enjoy the Ohio summer!
Hey Jorma,
Did you ever own a tobacco burst 74 les paul?
I bought one from a store in NYC a few years back and never really took much notice of the case until now.
It has your name on backstage passes (with the name HOT TUNA) that date back to 1976.. there’s many on there of many different gigs.
Anyway, i’m curious if it was your’s or one of your techs 🙂
Hope you respond!
Thanks very much
Dear Adam
Indeed, I did own a tobacco burst ’74 LP. I’m glad it has found a good home.
Jorma
Hope Myron feels better. He looks pretty good in the first picture. A good steak will do the trick.
Yikes!! Talk about cracks in the finish………………….
Oh to be a narcissist in the midst of mysogynists.
They shouldn’t have played that one…
Not to be “self-centered”, nor to “poison the well”, be “plain nasty” or post “garbage”:
that’s a funny comment!
Some guys just don’t like to have women around, playing on the same field.
But, women are here and we have worked for years to show that we are equal to men.@jim hitchcock
That was the result of Hot Tuna playing `Godzilla’.
There is definitive proof that Hot Tuna rocked Japan. There was a 6.0 earthquake – in Toyko – when Tuna was playing there – that’s incredible!
@John B
You’re right, John
Dear Jorma,
Love the picture of you and Jack, as well as all the pictures you posted during your excellent adventure in Japan.
Looking forward to seeing you in Tom’s River, NJ in June, and at the Ranch In July.
Be well,
Cyndy
@John B
ditto.. especially Lockn
Looking forward >>>>>>>>>>>> to a great summer filled with great music! >>>>>>>
@Larry Petrillo
I agree. It gets old. Fast.
The same self centered garbage over & over.
It poisons the well.
@johno
Ditto from me….and…So Glad the Tuna Gang is home and hopefully all healthy
As Jorma would say….
ON
WARD
OY VEY!
This blog and the comments posted are such a positive to me and and many music lovers in general and Tuna fans in specific.
It is disappointing to see 5 of 9 posts here from the same poster and featuring Ad hominem attacks on another. Please pause and reflect before you post. Ask yourself if what you are about to contribute is positive and not narcissistic or just plain nasty.
As Tom Hanks’ character said, in the movie:
“A League of Their Own” (1992):
“THERE’S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!!”
Myron: Carry on.
I know what it’s like to get the wake-up call; while finally getting some sleep in a hotel bed.
“Richard” has no idea of what it takes, to get-up and get going, while feeling sick and just wishing that you can call in, for a “sick-day”.
“Richard” could never, for even one day; deal with the work that is provided by
tour-staff.
If he ever had to work under the pressure of feeling sick, yet having to do the job needed to support the Artist/Band, he would crawl-up into a ball and claim:
“I need to take a “sick-day.”
“Richard” has no idea of what it would entail, to be a member of support-staff; and to show – up, on time and do the work that is needed.
Richard: Do not continue to try to antagonize me, here.
You don’t have the real-life experience, nor the music-industry props.
OY, Gevalt.
Richard is still trying to stick it to me.
It’s never going to work for you, Richard. No way.
You have no idea of what it’s like to travel overseas, as part of a tour supporting an Artist/Band.
@Richard
So glad you guys had a great trip and pleased so many people.They obviously respect you as much over there as here.You both look really healthy and happy like brothers,and no whining about the flight either.Get well myron.
Dear Myron:
It’s a drag to be sick while out on tour, especially overseas. I know.
Hope you are feeling better, stronger every day.
It’s certainly good to be back home in the USA. Rest-up, Myron.
Again: I say to Jorma and Jack:
Go to tour in Japan, EVERY YEAR!
It’s a far place to travel to, yet the benefits of the audiences there, whom are so grateful to have you doing shows in Japan, makes the travel worthwhile.
We all make plans, based on hopes and expectations.
May you travel to Japan again and enjoy the fruits of your labors.
Thanks for playing Water Song as an Encore at the Thumbs up on May 4.
Your Chevy Chase grown fan in Tokyo.
Thanks for sharing your tour of Japan. It was fantastic!
Hey Jorma,
Welcome back…glad to see Myron made it OK…What an awesome picture of yourself and Jack, you both look so happy…
Enjoy the family and see you at the electric shows.
Keep smilin….
