This program was a place for music aficionados and it was a pleasure to play for them and their collective audience.

After the show, it was back to Yokohama but this time, the station was almost empty.

Somewhere in Tokyo
There’s no way I can help my American readers to actually visualize how much rush there is to rush hour here. New York is starting to look relaxing to me.

Waiting for a train.
Around 1630 we walked on over to Thumbs Up to set up for our first show here in Japan.

excellent—
Jorma (and Jack), Ohiyo goziemas (good morning) and welcome to Tokyo/Yokohama. I’m happy to read that you enjoyed your performance at Thumbs Up, we will be seeing you two perform there next week and I have recruited friends to help ’round out the club with a Japanese bass player enjoying you guys “live” for his first time (1975/6 was mine). My sweet wife and I will catch you two tonight q, which is across the street from #########—the big music store where I buy the fingerpicks that I am learning to use as I try to learn fingerpicking. I would really like to see how far/deep/whatever you wear your fingerpicks, Jorma, if you would be so kind. Anyway, it will be wonderful to see and hear you tonight. Wishing you much happiness and good fortune. Mike (Hondo)
p.s. I hope that this comment was “moderated” enough for the “moderator”. “tear down the wall”—wasn’t that from Volunteers, the song?
God bless Myron
Looks like Jack is enjoying “The land of the Rising Sun”
Great way to start show/ tour , on a high note ,True religion.
May your chrysantanums never wilt, and your Samuri swords and music always be sharp and precise.
Greg
I’m glad to see the enthusiasm for this great tradition of music.
It does transcend culture ,and ultimately –soothe– the savage beast in all of us
What a setlist. Rocking it high in Yokahama Mama!
