Oops… not Gusman… mea culpa.

Before Barry and I took the stage, Jess Nolan sung her winning song, Burn, for the crowd backed up by a more than able band from the music school.

Back at HIllside Farm, in the 70’s today. The pseudo-Asian lady beetles are back, but that’s a small price to pay for nice weather…

Now, for a nice early bed time…

Chuck, the Foo Fighters doc on HBO (in Austin) pointed me to this article by L A Times writer Robert Hilburn a couple of days ago:

    This loss was sure hard.

Read this in A Long Strange Trip today:

“Garcia and others would play in a room above Max and Bertha Feldman’s deli in Palo Alto. One night, a new woman blues singer from Texas, Janis Joplin, was a no-show. Her accompanist, a guitarist from Santa Clara by the name Jorma ‘Jerry’ Kaukonen, allowed how he could play some blues, and proved it.”

Jorma, while you were in Orlando did you hit the Magic Kingdom or Epcot?

I guess the blog was out of order for a day or so. Miss the vibe when it’s gone. Speaking of missing a vibe, after a few years of letting it gather dust I broke out “Faded Love” by Delaney and Bonnie. A few days ago was 30 years that Johnnie Wills has been gone. Beautiful songwriter and singers. Miss their vibe.

They do look alike – both are in Florida – probably the same architect.

Boy that Guzman Hall looks a lot like The Capital Theater. 🙂
