It all started at the Rendezvous in Chico

I blew into California for some solo shows and one with Jack for the Owsley Stanley Foundation benefit at the Great American Music Hall. My first show was the Rendezvous and it was a swell way to start this little run. When Myron was setting me up for this gig, the jack in my ‘acoustic’ guitar took a poop… but there was a great little music store in town on Oroville Ave….Herreid Music. They drove a new pickup over to the gig and Myron put it in… game on! Thanks guys!!!!

A Friday set with John Hammond…and then Saturday with Rachael Price…man, that’s gonna be fun. Psyched to hear some JA. It’s Tuna season in NYC now.
The Beacon Shows are lining up to be quite a freak out.
Opening acoustic on Friday, and flying some Jefferson on Saturday.
Someone just upgraded me to fourth row for Saturday.

Love the vintage poster from Pepperland! With Charles Lloyd even! Bet it was a great show. I have one of those and its one of my favorites but I don’t get the fat rabbit in the forefront though. Was that a “White Rabbit” reference? My absolute favorite poster and one that I wish I had an original copy of is one done by the artist Lee Conklin back in 1969 at “The Barn” in Rio Nido,CA. billed with the Grateful Dead. A classic Lee Conklin masterpiece with an alien that is “all ears”. I wish I could have been there.Must have been a real hoot! Rio Nido of all places! The poster reads “Jack Casady , Jorma Kaukonen and Joey Covington from the Jefferson Airplane”(and the Grateful Dead).Is it possible that this event preceded the band being billed as Hot Tuna?

Another alumni Pete met me before the show, down from SF, dinner at Tampicos..Mexican food…and then your solo performance. Hearing you solo is quite a different experience. Symphonic.
I really enjoyed the stories in between songs.
Also, my new spiritual advisor/sponsor Alan came to the second show and was overwhelmed by your playing, (in a good way).
It was his first time.
