The Foundry nee Melting Point

We rolled into Athens, Georgia yesterday afternoon after an uneventful drive from Nashville. The Graduate Hotel in Athens… also the site of the Foundry is very cool.

Shades of Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman
After a little rest and a nice burger… I hit the stage. Here are the sets:

Back in the room… I eyed the amenities.

Colonial splendor...
We’re outta here in a bit… off to Asheville, North Carolina and the Grey Eagle.
Onward!
We caught your show Tuesday night at the Grey Eagle in Asheville. Absolutely wonderful. I used to be a progressive rock dj at WRNW-FM in Westchester County, NY back in the mid 70s and played Quah racks all the time. Could you please post or send me the set list from the Grey Eagle show. Appreciatively, Joe
Just wanted to say thank you for including Athens on your tour. The show was even better than I could have wished for. Playing old favorites and soon to be new favorites! Hope to see you again soon and next time bring Jack along!
Barbara says to enjoy to watch and hear those ladies have fun. Nobody knows the troubles they have seen in life. Hot Tuna is good background music for every body. Music can heal the soul of those who have seen many bad things but they survive to live and laugh and in this small restaurant they like the good music of Hot Tuna but they don’t know what it is they listen just that it makes them feel good.
Good times for sure, Jorma!
4:27pm and they are still going strong! They are Jewish ladies and this is the big afternoon to be out with the girls for them! They start to sing a few minutes ago but not hot tuna just we think the music is making them loosen up and relax to have fun. Jorma, it doesn’t get any better than this!
Today this minute and for more hours afternoon we play. Hot tuna on the sound in the restaurant. Only Barbara is here and a big table of eight Russian ladies. She sits with us and the other ladies sit at their other table. Keep on trucking momma is playing on the CD player and the ladies like it! The ladies are eighty years of age, plus more! Barbara is so happy to see them to have good time for sure!@john b
Great looking set list Jorma. Oh, to see you you solo would be terrific. Add a few more solo dates here in the Ny/NJ/Conn area. The only one I see is a private event at the Caldwell Country Club and I cant afford to join.
Another incredible set list.
It’s awe-inspiring to see the depth and breadth of the material Jorma does.
A lifetime of living, playing and studying distilled into one show.
Watch the North Wind Rise? Its been a while since that one made it to the play list! See you Saturday at SOPAC!
