Great performing arts center!
Last night we found ourselves in the South Orange Performing Arts Center. Our first trip there, but hopefully not our last!
We were fortunate last night to have our young friend, Matt Aaron, sit in with us on the great Lightning Hopkins tune, Come Back Baby.

Onward!
Hi Jorma – thanks for another great performance, and for coming to SOPAC! My wife Shelly & friends Sandy & George have really enjoyed regularly taking advantage of opportunities to see you perform, along with various combinations of Barry, Jack, Larry & Theresa, G.E.Smith and other truly gifted musicians.
You may recall meeting us at the hotel in Glenside PA last year the morning after a show – we picked up your bkfst tab and chatted for a few minutes with you & Barry & Barry’s wife (I’m a pediatrician in NYC).
I hope – and expect – to be able to enjoy your great music, performances and positive spirit for a long time to come (next time for us in Beacon,NY) – I Ain’t in No Hurry!!!
Dear Jorma,
Once again an outstanding show, Matt did a great job with you guys on Come Back Baby, I’ll Be All Right Someday into Death Don’t Have no Mercy made me think of an old friend who used to say that was his theme song, can’t believe he will be gone 9 years this month, hard to go to a show without thinking about him at least once.
North Wind Rise was a very nice treat. I was sorry I missed the show Sunday but had to head home something came up. Thanks for the John Hancock also…catch you guys in a couple of months.
Oh by the way Barry has a little help pulling them in…lol
Safe Travels…spring is right around the corner….

Dear Jorma,
Sorry to have missed the show, especially since you were in my neck of the woods.
See you and Jack for acoustic duo in two weeks at FPR. Can’t wait!
Best,
Cyndy
Another great show last night Jorma. This was the first time my wife has seen you without Jack and she was blown away. She said it was the best finger picking she has ever seen. I said “see – I told you lol”. Anyway, I was the guy to your right in the back ADA seats with the black leather hat standing most of the night. Please come back to NJ, NYC soon.
how fitting, after 40 years of truckin around to see you perform and your finally in my backyard.
can’t wait for tonight!
Jorma,
Welcome back to New Jersey! I have lost count how many times I have seen you since the late 70’s (Solo, The White Gland, Vital Parts, With Jack, Tuna, et. al)! – Looking forward to seeing the show at the Newt; been waiting to see you there since they opened. Only a 3 mile drive from my current home.
How ’bout some police dog blues or Killing Time in the Crystal City for old times sake?
-Thanks – MJ
Wish i was there! Hope you come back to Sherman Theater in PA. Electric! Saw you last Acoustic in Bethlehem, PA. All great shows the best of times.
Another excellent show. Enjoy the FPR photos. I hope you can find a spot on the wall for one of them. See you in Newton.
SO looking forward to tonight’s performance! Haven’t seen you since Hot Tuna at The Pier in NYC! Bringing my daughter so she can share the experience.Have a great show!
