We bussed down from Babeville in Buffalo to this lovely arts center in scenic Homer, New York. What a cool little town!

Great stained glass!

More stained glass
Yeah… they saved another church from destruction and created a beautiful performing arts center.

Imigane being in the audience here...

Truly, this is a important websites.
I just finished relating this story in response to a comment on another blog (A Dodger blog, TBLA 🙂 ), thought it might be worth retelling here:
Many moons ago, shortly after we graduated from HS, a really good friend, and most impressive drummer, Tim Denham, broke his neck while body surfing in Hawaii. Weirdly, an older brother of another neighborhood mutual friend came across him on the beach.
He spent a long time at Rancho Los Amigos before he was sent home. A year or so later, this most impressive drummer lost his will, and moved on.
Just as we were entering the gates of Inglewood Cemetary, on comes Funeral For A Friend on the radio. Me and all the rest of the Wayne and Garths in my car looked at each other, dumbfounded. Just one of those things, an eerie and poignant moment.

Great show!! A beautiful place to see a show and wonderful acoustics. Jorma and Jack played as well as I’ve ever heard and Jorma’s vocals were clear and strong. This was right up there with the best I’ve seen from them. I certainly like seeing them with a full band, but the interplay between them as a duo in a setting like this is amazing. Jorma introduced “In My Dreams”, then pretended to fall asleep and snore. Cracked up everyone there – including Jack! Jorma also mentioned that he and Jack are in the 3 Stooges fan club and just received the quarterly newsletter. Love that sense of humor… assuming it was a joke…
I have to mention Jack’s Diana bass. It is a beautiful instrument and in Jack’s hands the tone was great. What a wonderful tribute to his late wife.
I meant it must be a thrill.
It must be a year for you guys to play in a church. Acoustics are usually fabulous. I love the stained glass. Yah, imagine being in the audience. Musta been cool.
The photos from the Electric set look great. Like an eclipse.
I’m getting excited to see my favorite band this Fri. & Sat.
It’s been a while. The Beacon to be exact.
Bring it on!
