The day after the Fillmore, Jack and Myron and Phil and I jumped into cars and headed up to Grass Valley, California for a sold out gig at the Performing Arts Center there. Grass Valley has a lot of good memories for me. I had some dear friends who lived there back in the day… and I bought a nice 1940 Buick four door sedan there. My Dad,had his 1970 Mercedes Roadster restored in Auburn, my Mom lived in North Shore Tahoe and we used to go swimming in the American River. Good times indeed.
This wasn't there back in the 60's
When I got out of the van, the air was redolent with the smell of redwoods in the brisk night air… it brought me back… a long time.

Two words we love to see...
We drove to a hotel near the Sacramento airport and yesterday morning we grabbed a plane to Dallas. IN Dallas, we found out that our flight to Columbus had been cancelled… who knows why? We got out on a later flight and flew into the storm that was hitting the Ohio River Valley. My 4×4 Nissan Titan was waiting for us in the garage in Columbus. We filled up with gas ($1.64 a gallon) and drove south in the storm. Three and a half hours later, I was home and in bed. (the trip usually takes an hour forty five)
We had a fabulous little New Year’s run to the Golden State. 71 gigs for Hot Tuna in 2014. We’ll see what happens in 2015. That’s about it for now… gotta walk Maverick and hit the sack.

I went to the Melting Points web site and you are not on the calendar. Has the show just not been announced yet? It is a great place to see a show, so I hope it happens! I have had the pleasure of listening to your music since the mid 70’s and first saw you live in 1979. Really hope this show comes about!

Love you Jorma! So sorry I will miss you in Colorado in February, heading to Hawaii for a 23 year wedding anniversary (I know, it’s not 25). Hoping Electric Tuna will return to Colorado in 2015, we miss you!

I always wanted to know what Jack drives. Maybe a Benz S500, BMW 6, Audi 8 or Lexus LS. Would love to know. Maybe a new Corvette in the garage.

Boy Jorma that takes me back to the late 70’s when I had a blast driving my old ’46 Chevy every day to work and around town. Back seat had enough room for a trio and a small dance floor. Then I moved up to the big time corporate world for an engineering gig. Drove my orange ’57 Chevy with the 327 Vette motor, Pontiac rear and Muncie 4 speed right into the parking lot with all of the Mercedes,BMWs and Audis. Had my day-glo DeadHead skull sticker proudly pasted on the side window. Yes sir I was never about fitting in. Kind of proud about it.
Jorma – I can just see you driving that ’34 Buick or the tricked out ’55 Chevy down to Santa Cruz – you must’ve been one cool dude.

Were you a car collector or did you actually drive those old Buicks – I can just see you and Jack driving around San Francisco back in the early 70’s – it must’ve been some sight to see. I love Burgers – I always thought it was the best Tuna album ever – though I love all of them.
I’m not a collector… I didn’t own them at the same time… they were both daily drivers. If I can’t use something I don’t want to own it. Just sayin’

Sold it… buit a ’55 Chevy two door Bel Air hardtop… hot 327… solid lifters, cam, Holley 850 Double Pumper, Muncie 4 speed… 4:ll rear end… sold it too… got a Jeep, truck and a Harley now.

No… that Buick was a 1934 Two Door Long Wheelbase Victoria… but it was mine too.
