Parking at Otto's
We opted for Thanksgiving at Otto’s… we’ll have turkey at the Tabernacle today.

Heading in from the parking lot... room for the bus!

Welcome!
I wanted kassler ripchen…

The farmer's platter
And I got it… and more!

The empty seat would be me, if I weren't taking the picture
So much to be thankful for on this day… and every day!
Another Barbara meltdown? Challenging people to fight?
What he said. Yah
HOT FUCKING TUNA!
I pray you are free from the fears that torment, grateful for the gifts that are given, and healthy from the demons…both physical and psychological that plague.
How’bout a Chess match?
This is hilarious.
You are obviously off your rocker – go play with yourself you loser!
Well, are you not the one who wants to “Keep going”?
You monitor this comments thread, as if you are the self-appointed nid in charge.
What are you going to do to me, if I “Keep going”?
You are the one who “keep(s) going”, with your childish nonsense.
Will you hurt me? How?
You don’t have the ability to cause me any harm, yet you are full of the B.S., (backed-up by your “J” homeboys, with whom you exchange emails, alerting them to
post anti- Barbara Jacobs comments on this site).
You are a baby and your “J”-babies are your crew. How weak you all are.
Your “J.B.” friend is a coward: I invited him to call me and discuss anything he wanted to, in order to clear the air with me. He’s a pussy –so, he declined and just continued to post his lame comments here, like the coward that he is.
Your “johno” friend is nothing more than a clueless follower, to the “Three J’S”
attempt to troll me.
Although I got along with them until, it seems, that they decided to turn on me;
I have no respect for them now.
You are the baby who needs to have back-up from them. They are childish enough, to go after me here.
#1 baby: is you.
#2 baby is “johno”.
#1 coward is John B.
Again, what is your plan, other than making an ass of yourselves here?
Too cowardly to talk to me, off-line.
You want to fight me, in person?
Bring it on, all three of you, in a boxing ring. Fair fight.
How about at “Gold’s”? There will be an official ref. All legit.
I will take you, one-by-one; or all three of you together.
After that, you can lay together on the canvas and lick each others’ wounds.
What day and time would be best, for you three losers?
Boxing is a sport.
Trolling me is a loser’s game.
I could sell tickets for that fight. All proceeds go to charity.
@Joey Hudoklin
Keep going.
Again: ^^ another insipid question.^^
Another lame attempt to discredit me and my comments.
It never worked in your favor before, now, nor will it work in the future.
You are “The Three Loserteers”.
The only thing you are “full of” is your own B.S.
You are so full of yourself – aren’t you.
^^^ The Three J’s^^^ evidently have a problem with reading comprehension.
(Also, social ineptitude.)
If you didn’t care — you three would not be posting your childish comments.
Nobody cares.
^^^The Three J’s ^^^
Same old pile-on.
I’ve been an expert on how to approach public figures (I don’t call them “rock stars”. Jorma has verified before on his blog, that he doesn’t consider himself to be a “rock star”.) for over 30 years, working in the music business.
I get paid for being an expert. I also work for free, for charity events.
Last weekend, I was working for free, giving my time and expertise at charity events in NY. I flew in from Europe to work.
I don’t live in Brighton Beach. Even if I did live there, it would not be “sad”.
Cracks In The Finish February 15th 2011.
Since when are you the expert on how to approach a rock star. your loooong supercilious rants are ridiculous. Where were you last weekend. I had friends fly in from California and you couldn’t make it from brighton beach. How sad.
U. G. L. Y.
Most important:
Don’t pay attention to the supercilious comment of that person, posted here, who makes it sound like Jorma is Michael Corleone.
O.K.,It’s official: A sampling of PR/security in the entertainment biz all agree:
When in doubt, just follow my suggestions as described above. I’ve been working in this biz for over 30 years.
That’s what to do.
What one should never do:
Don’t ever ask for a handshake, while at the urinal/ in the restroom.
(same for autographs and/or photos/selfies ).
Don’t plop down at the table and take a taste of Jorma’s kassler ripchen.
Same for his farmer’s platter.
Don’t drink from his glass of iced-tea, water, coffee or whatever is in his glass/cup. (No swapping spit or back-wash).
Other than that, us publicists/ security people are more concerned with what happens outside on the sidewalk.
A restaurant/diner/coffee shop is considered to be a controlled public environment.
The sidewalk is not. Especially in New York or in any other big city.
Other than that, proceed as suggested in my comments, above.
Hey there Jorma and Jack;
Great laid back acoustic show last night at 6th and I in DC.
Such a contrast between last weekend at the Beacon and last night..from one extreme to another; loud rocking electric to a quiet acoustic set. I really enjoyed last nights show….had my 27 year old son along with me; it was his 3d time seeing the band, plus had other friends with me as well.
Have you guys ever thought about playing at the Hamilton in DC? Real good venue, probably has about the best sound going in DC…kinda like the Birchmere; has the dinner thing going on…just thought I would throw that in.
Once again; many thanks to HFT for 3 great shows in the past 9 days. Glad you did it and glad I was able to attend. Happy holidays to you guys and yours.
A long standing FAN !!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry missed that entry..Glad to hear he is alive and well..
@Richard
Jorma answered that question under the blogs of “Beacon Night #1”
Can someone please tell me what happened to Barry?
There are no rules set in stone.
If you are a fan, an approach can simply be a smile and a thumbs-up, while on your way into or out of the restaurant. Or, while actually at the next table.
Add a “Hi, good to see you!” or “Great show last night!”
Or, just a smile when eye contact is made.
I’ve never known any artist who was annoyed by that. If they don’t want to be approached or acknowledged, they will be sitting at a table in the far corner,
with their back to the restaurant diners. That’s the only way to have personal time in a public place.
@Barbara Jacobs
…with meaningful swingin’ words like petals cut as swords, and the perfect right insight to rock your soul so bright.
Rock Them All Tall Tonight Jorma!
@john b
He is one of the nicest and most unassuming persons I have ever met. Forget the fact that he is one of the finest blues guitarists on the planet. He is a beautiful spirit who writes beautiful music.
Saturday morning we saw Jorma having breakfast in a restaurant just down from the Beacon Theatre. It was a thrill to see him but we didn’t dare impose on him during his personal time. If we had been outside on the sidewalk that would have been different and I am sure he would have responded with kindness and understanding.
It’s even more remarkable for Hot Tuna to be sitting at the next table in a place where, maybe,fellow diners don’t realize it. Hot Tuna fans can be stunned to see Jorma and Jack and can also approach them and be greeted on a human level of kindness and respect. They are eating without any expectation, except for the great food that they find in the most regular places/eateries. That’s regular surprise and happiness.
This is the true magic of Jorma: a regular guy, comfortable amongst the real people. Not looking for recognition and if approached by those who do recognize him and Jack — they are polite and o.k. with it. Even being away on tour on Thanksgiving.
I can say from my own personal experience, that they are unique in that way: being one with the people and their fans.
Rock on, Jorma and Jack.
Rock on, Jorma and Jack ! @Bennett Harris
Must be a remarkable thing for fellow diners to look up and realize that Hot Tuna is eating at the next table. I know it would stun me, anyway!
“I don’t want a pickle
Just want to ride my motorcycle”
50 years done gone by. Amazing.
Hey Bob, anything beyond Coors and Bud is progress…the above mentioned included 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving! I recognized Otto’s, Willow Grove. Authentic German fare and a spot to get an authentic German beer. In this era of the microbrew revolution,it’s harder and harder to find the real thing. You have to choose from hundreds of brand that are like the authentic. That just doesn’t seem like progress. Thanks for listening.
Enjoy! Looking forward to the Long Island show and the Ann Arbor show. Taking my family to the Long Island show! And my son to the Ann Arbor show since he is at school
