Great show last night!
The NJ PAC is a beautiful venue with fantastic acoustics and Electric trio is nice. While I really enjoy Larry Campbell and GE Smith, the trio ensures more Jorma solos. Tuna rocked!
Was hoping Dave Mason would join for a jam and while Justin Guip doesn’t miss a beat, Skoota would add a few too.
Regardless, fans got a potent double dose of Dave Mason and Tuna!
If I owned a transporter, I would set the controls for the heart of the Tuna/Dave Mason gig right about now.
Jorma – quick weird question, does larry campbell have a brother howard? who used to own a music store in wappingers falls or hopewell junction ny? years ago howard knew his little brother had talent and would rise. and larry looks very familiar. I knew them in 1977-1980.
Kathy just brought me down with the thought of 1 hour ten. It’ll still be great, but the eight hours before ….. will be good…. it better be.

‘Play at full volume for maximum effect.” – I probably shouldn’t have took that advice literally – it was either that album or Ted Nugents song “Hibernation” that probably resulted in me acquiring hearing aids.
I’ve only seen Hot Tuna in Chicago and Milwaukee.. actually considered taking a few days off when they play at Myrtle Beach.
Don’t you miss those album covers? Looking at a CD cover just isn’ t the same.

Yah Doug. I agree. I so wish I could be in NY for Hot Tuna Electric Trio. Acoustic shows coming to NoCal in the fall. But…My gluttonous mind wants it all!

I fyou ever get an opportunity to ride you bike through the area of Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT, a great experience, especially in the fall with the leaves changing. Great Barrington’s a great place we used to race horses at the track on the Fairgrounds that are now gone, we also raced them up Rt 7 at Green Mountain Park, Pownell, VT. Spent the Summer of Love at those two places coming of age at that time too! Girls loved horses and I was just cracking the seal on those adventures.

I’m going to three shows this weekend and sorry to do this, but I hope you unwrap one or a couple of these… Song for the Stainless Cymbal, (can’t play it loud enough right now); I Wish You Would and Baaby What you want me to do, ( two hard rocking blues songs. You spewing desperate words and your guitar crying. Doesn’t get much better than that); and Sleep Song. Back in the day during the chaotic seven minute drive to drop off my very young school age kids at school, the first song on Americas Choice would be Sleep Song. One day my 2nd grader is running around the house singing “ship ain’t got no sail… ship ain’t got no sail”. Loved it! Well, whatever is played will be great, but that’s my wish list…beg list…Please!!! Only kidding! Thanks for letting me share.
