Jorma and his mighty steed
Yep… it was September and Pick And Putt time again… we’re talking about motorcycles here, not golf.

a group of friends at the old Coolspot in Coolville
We get together with some pals the day before Pick And Putt at the Ranch and had a beautiful ride in Southeast Ohio.

Nothing like a ride in the country on a beautiful day
We were taking some back roads up through the Wayne National Forest towards Hannibal on the river.

Up a lazy river...
It was tough to take time out from the ride to take pictures… but here’s a couple:

The last ferry on the Ohio River
We found this antiquity just south of Hannibal on Rt. 7 on the way to Marieta.

Three very old friends
Here you see me, Ng Lun Yun and Bill Hight. The three of us were in the Philippines together in 1956 and 1957. To be able to hang with such old pals was a blessing indeed… Lives have come and gone, but we know who we were, and who we are.

Ben ramrods the AMA waiver signing for Ranchers
The it was Friday and time for the Pick And Putt weekend at the Ranch. Ben spearheaded the AMA formalities and then it was Saturday and time for the Big Ride!

Yeah, I know. Mitch is going to put long pants on for the ride.

A great ride was had by all
A quick group foto after the ride… before lunch and classes… Good times!
Saturday night, the wondrous Geoff Achison brought his Souldiggers to the Fur Peace Ranch and rocked us to our core!
Before you knew it, Monday came and another grand weekend drew to a close.

What a lovely group...
Yep… another great one slid into the record books.
Onward!
Oops, sorry – too many commas. No comma after “chatima”…
Shana tova and gmar chatima, tova, Jorma.
SWEET….
🙂
Full sets from Lockn’ of both the Jefferson Airplane celebration and Hot Tuna on You Tube by GratefuLSD, professional quality. Check it out. Great set by Tedeschi Trucks commemorating Mad Dogs & Englishmen Tour as well.
I’ve never seen the covered bridge near Delta Iowa but I am familiar with the ones around Madison County just South of me forty miles. We used to stage Civil War reenactments near Cedar Bridge which looks a lot like the one pictured here. It was destroyed by arsonists and rebuilt. They are under constant video surveillance now as is Jessica’s house made famous by the Eastwood movie. They tried torching it too.
What a summer! One of the most beautiful summers I can remember. I hope you enjoyed it and were able to ride as much as you wanted. Thanks for the pictures. You look like the Red Rider – also love covered bridges.
Great music and roads, sounds like a perfect weekend!
Do you wear a seatbelt on that thing Jorma?
Yes, another great weekend of music and motorcycling…. Most excellent camaraderie! Fur Peace M/C rides again!
Looks like the Weather Gods were very kind to you Pick and Putt Riders (and
Thor stayed away)
I hope you and Jack have a blast this weekend!
