OK… there’s been some chatter about automobiles that have been a part of my life… I’ve loved them all… more or less. Here’s the only shot I could find of me in the ’55 Chevy Bel Air:

Note Hurst shifter and dashboard tach...
Yeah, I know… California Marijuana Initiative… Live and learn. It was a very long time ago.

The driveway at Hillside Farm
One degree this morning… snow… more than crunchy. Beautiful Winter morning!
The Abarth went to live with a new owner in Indiana, and I have returned to my favorite vehicle… a Jeep Wrangler!

Now... this is a car!
Just can’t beat a Jeep for country living… and the pickup truck ain’t bad either!

Nessa takes the dog of destiny for a walk
On mornings like this, Maverick is quick to do his business… although the crunchy snow makes him mighty frisky. Hmmmm…. I smell breakfast cooking. Enough fooling around online…
Onward!
Hey Jorma,
Great picture from “Back in the Day”,,,,
Nice Jeep, should put some chrome on that bad boy..lol
Just pre ordered the new CD and I am looking forward to hearing it in it’s entirety. “LOVE” the cover…..
Enjoy your precious quality time with your family and very sorry to hear about your friend.
Take Care
Dear Jorma,
I think you had a Sun Beam as well . Do you have pictures of that?
Best,
Cyndy
Yea Jim had a 63 220s which a got for 300$ in 1980, great car in great shape every thing worked, dual carbs. had to give it 5 yrs. later in my early 20s at the time couldnt afford ny insurance Gregg s.i.n.y.
I coulda been arrested for having “Too Much Fun” driving my ’59 Mercedes 220S (with full length sunroof) down the California coast one sunny afternoon from SB to Ventura to see Hot Tuna play an outdoor daytime concert at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Nice venue, right on the beach. That was a great day!It may have been close to 20 years ago now.(I still have the car.)
Must’ve been tough to find parts – and someone that knows ’70 Mercedes Roadsters. But it was probably a blast to drive.
Also, there was a time when, as a young’un, bell bottom jeans and barefoot were my standard attire . So I have to ask, what the heck are those socks about?
The above is a bit of an obscure ref that only Jorma will get, for now. Or maybe also Barbara Jacobs, who’s very smart (come back Barbara, we all miss you).
Cool car But you deserve Mercedes, man. Huge fan of your music here.
I had my Father’s Mercedes 1970 280SL roadster… great car… expensive to keep running here in the States.
The Johnny Depp movie Transcendence is not the greates sci-fi movie I’ve ever seen…
…but oh, that soundtrack.
Nice car pic. Jorma…I can just hear that Double Pumper doin’ its thang………..
I had a ’60 Biscayne I lived in and out of for a few years. Not quite the Belair, but roomy and solid. Easy to wire in the necesaary speakers and electronics of the day. From eight-tracks to cassettes.
I thought that was the dog of destiny ! Jeeps are the best for woods riding that is for sure as I have spent countless hours riding through the Pine Barrens of New Jersey in one and always with Hot Tuna playing on the stereo! Enjoy the family time and I will see you at a couple of the east coast Jorma/Barry shows.
Great pics especially the one of Maverick and Vanessa – when you have a woman that loves you – you got it all! Count your blessings you have everything a man could ever want.
