This is Spring?
The second weekend at the Fur Peace Ranch featured Tom Feldmann, David Wolff and myself in our tag team (so to speak) Entrance Ramp. As you can see from the picture above, it wasn’t exactly the Spring weather we had counted on, but it was hot inside the workshops.

Jorma and Michael Falzarano
Dan Hicks was supposed to come in for our concert Saturday night, but brother Dan is fighting liver cancer right now. Our thoughts and prayers fly to the West Coast to Dan and we wish him a speedy and successful triumph in this battle. Dan, of course had a sold out show at the Fur Peace Station but thanks to our good friend, The New Riders Of The Purple Sage subbing for Dan, the room sold out again!

Nice drum head!
The guys invited me up to sit in on both sets… good times indeed. These guys rock, and it was a real pleasure to play with them!

Nessa with the guys of NRPS!
Thanks fellas… you did us and the enthusiastic audience a solid. We won’t forget this!
Sunday was the open mike for the students at the Station, and Zach and I opened the show.

Pickin' with the son! It's been too long...
The Entrance Ramp Class Picture:

What a lovely buncha pickers!
Well… this sure was a good one, for sure. By the end of the morning class on Monday, it looked like this.

Indeed... Spring is back!
Yeah… at least it’s not sub freezing this morning. Good times on the way. Today, I’m on my way to Dover, Delaware to play the Schwartz Center For The Arts.
Without doubt… more shall be revealed!
Yellow Fever and Hopkorv Friday night; Phosphorescent Rat and Americas Choice Saturday, throw a few crowd favs as an encore at the Keswick. Pack 50% of the same crowd each night and some.
You got me Jorma….April Fool I am. I was ready to book the flight from Philly to Chicago…Halloween. Seeing the whole Yellow Fever and Hopkorv LP’s live had me druling. I’ve pleaded for Free Rein before and I Wish You Would has special meaning to me. I’ve seen a Peter Gabriel Genesis cover band that does that couple of complete LP’s as a concert and it works awesome. I love that idea for Hot Tuna. Your Pal
Halloween show. LOL. Oh well, easy come, easy go.
mY PRAYERS GO OUT TO DAN IVE SEEN HIM MANY TIKES
STILL HOPING FOR SOME WEST COAST ELECTRIC SHOWS SOOOOOON
MARK FROM MCABES
Wow, what a great stone..all of ours are in the backyard also. Hope you guys won’t mind if I steal your idea. Nice to see you and Zach together on stage again. So looking forward to seeing the trio and Mike this July…I bet it’s going to be awesome…
Be well and safe travels
Hogan
🙂
@Jim, me too….lol
Nice Halloween show 😉 Ya got me!
I believe Jorma got the above term from “The Door Into Summer”, a novel by science fiction master Robert Heinlein. It had a big impact on me when I was a kid.

Makes me think of all our wonderful companions no longer with us…especially Kanga, the Wonder Cat.
Hope you can sit in when they open for the trio at the Capitol and visa versa,
Maybe like Dylan when I saw him with the Band and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – everybody took turns playing something
of course you wouldn’t be a trio then and some purists may get pissed
Me I’ll be happy any old way – just twist my arm
Peace
Love All Ways
Healing thoughts to Dan and family.
Jorma – As they grow older it’s really uncanny how much your teenage Zach son looks like my teenage son. Ray Bans – cool sneakers T’s and jeans. Ain’t it just great to have a teenage son.
J is barry taking the year off?
Barry is with us as schedules allow. You can see when and where on the Tour Page.
Buddy Cage is 2nd on the left with the cap on…he’s got a crazy Mohawk going on under three!!! It was crazy loud but it wasn’t cranked up to hide the flaws it was cranked up cuz it was a barn burner! Jorma played Chuck Berrys Never Can Tell as well as Spike Driver and Deep Elem Blues an obscure Dylan tune Lo and Behold…and that was just set 1…thanx to Jorma and the gang for letting us in on the fun…and thanx to NRPS not just for showing up on short notice but for leaving us with Ripple as an encore…I’m blessed to be a part of this wonderful magic
What is that a picture of?
Hey John…
That is the snow covered grave stone in my yard where all our dogs who have opened the Door Into Summer lie.
‘No Heaven Could Heaven Be, If My Dog’s Not There To Welcome Me!’
That’s on the stone.
Hello Jorma, You are mentioned, and pictured, in Chris Junior’s recap of certain SXSW events. He’s quite good at rock photo-journalism, and a good friend of my
family here in NJ,so I thought I’d send along the link:

Is Buddy Cage in that picture? Sorry; it has been a long time…………
Oh man, so sorry to hear about Dan Hicks…our thoughts and prayers go out to him. We met him years ago, what a great guy.
