Andriy. That’s all so cool. Yes tell barb hi for me. Tell her she missed a good tuna show at the beacon last December I was sad she couldn’t make it. So where did you move to NYC from?
Jorma…I was at your show at the City Winery last night (2/28/15). Right in the front row. I was the one who said, “we don’t care” when you where reminiscing about having to play in tune, and also yelled, “No..Thank you” when you thanked this awesome crowd for their love. The show was just magical. I’ve loved your music all my life. Will be 52 in March. Thank you so much for such an intimate and uplifting evening. You are a blessed soul. And I’ll keep following…..

I just bought a ticket for the electric tuna show in Durham NC next month….April 18 I think at the Carolina…just buzz on down from VA ..6 hour drive or so and buzz on back..HFT. Anyone else going to that one?
@Joe in DC MTB has been one of my favorite bands since their inception. Man do I miss Toy Caldwell. Only Doug Gray is left from the original lineup?
Looking forward to ur show this Thursday at the TALLYHO in good ole historic leesburg, va. I lived in leesburg for 18 years and raised my son there. Now I live in nearby sterling VA. Used to take my son to the TALLYHO when he was knee high to a grass hopper to see flicks. Now this Thursday I will be sharing a Jorma show with my 26 year old son. Full circle huh?
I took my son Aaron to an electric tuna show at the beacon in 2011 as a gift to him for his 21 st bday. Got him a 3d row seat. Aaron plays the guitar and other string instruments so he really loved the show mostly hesitation cause he plays it as well !!!
The TALLYHO is pretty typical of these old east coast movie theaters. Built years ago, been struggling to make $ lately cause of all the multi 85 screen mega plex 3d theaters all around. Couple years ago the TALLYHO changed and started doing dinner shows instead of movies and getting live bands. I think it was a life saver for them. Last year they had Marshall tucker band and others and now Jorma and Barry which I like to call a half tuna show (1/2HFT).
Just sharing a bit of the history with u all. Looking forward to some great tunes Thursday Jorma. TALLYHO is first come first serve seating. So as a loyal 40 year plus tuna fan I want to get a front row seat Doors open 730 show 830. Figure if I get outside at 6 and wait that will do it. Only problem is they predict yet another east cost snow storm Thursday. I am getting too old for this!!!!! Hah. Onward.

It was my pleasure to see and hear you play in Nashville, last night. Your music brings us “older Folks” back to our youthful memories of listening to you, Jack, Grace and the rest of the crew, rocking out at Winterland and the Fillmore! Those were the days!
Thank you Jorma for continuing the tradition of playing the blues and giving us the JOY of music.

Chuck…That was my first Hot Tuna show May 20 1978 or so I thought. Expected Tuna but got Jorma who played 29 songs solo into the wee hours of Passaic, NJ. Opened with Keep your Lamps…ended with Mann’s Fate. I count 9 songs that are on both the City Winery and the Capitol Theatre setlists. Unbelievable performances both nights. Rock on Jorma…
Hey Jorma, Looking at your set list brings me back to the Capitol Theatre in Passaic NJ after the 1978 “Hot Tuna Hiatus”. I remember you sitting on stage and playing song after song by yourself. Songs that we had, up until that point, only heard electric. I See the Light, Serpent of Dreams, Jelly Roll Blues etc. I remember that you played for hours, by yourself! I was amazed back then that one person could put on a performance such as that. Wow, not much has changed in nearly 40 years! You’re still sitting on stage and playing nearly 30 songs by yourself! I am truly in awe. Be proud of yourself it’s amazing!
Jorma don’t you do a song called ‘Deep Ellum’. Just love the album – I find myself humming ‘Barroom Crystal Ball’ all the time.
