Didn’t get back to the hotel until after one and then this morning we beat feet to Raleigh, North Carolina where tomorrow I will play the Lincoln Theater. Then it’s off to Annapolis, Maryland and the Ram’s Head.
Nice little tour… and I’ll be home on Monday.

As I recall, Jorma occasionally deployed some particularly nasty lyrics on “Whining boy …” back in the late ’70s at the Old Waldorf… I’m pretty sure they were Morton’s and I believe a stump was somehow involved.
So great to see that song return with or without “blue” lyrics.

Always thought Jorma should do a Jelly Roll Morton tribute album.

Hope you can make it back to the Mecca Restaurant in Raleigh again for dinner before the show. It’s a gem of a place! I’ve gone there since the 70s and it’s still the same (except for prices of course).

I don’t know where this little side topic came from, but however you wanna spell it is fine by me. I’m originally from NY as I reckon a lot of us on this blog are, and it always winds up getting pronounced Whinin’. It’s more fun.

This place looks really cool.
I gotta say, the set list is sweltering. Especially the second half of the 2nd set. After all these years Jorma, you’ve created a catalog of Music so varied & deep, not to mention the stuff that gets omitted for periods of time, or disappears, or re-appears! The last 15-20 yrs; in my opinion, have been a renaissance in creative activity for you. There are no coincidences in life. Just G-ds way of maintaining anonymity.
