Last week there was snow. It snowed again the next day. It is snowing again today. It will snow again tomorrow. That is from English lesson about past tense, present tense, and the future tense. I can not remember these things but I try sometimes.@johno

No times yet for going to concert but some time soon. I read here about Jorma and Hot Tuna and I have the music and t-shirt and merchandise. I have new Jorma CD. We had English lesson how to read the liner notes and the Frisbee and Jorma tasty tea container and the magnets.@johno

How many times have you seen Hot Tuna
It is on the espresso machine. For all to see but only we know what it is. This is called “the visible inside joke”.
The restaurant is small and the Russian people are there only with reservations for 20-40 people in each group for each side of the restaurant. We push the tables together. We have one small table in the back for the employee meal without tablecloth. Monday is sometimes only slow day and my friend comes in to sit with us there. That is the only time you hear English speaking. The cash register is next to the espresso machine in the back.@johno
My earliest music exposure was to the National Barn Dance show on WLS out of Chicago. That and Ernest Tubb, Patsy Cline and most all of the 50’s honky tonk you could put on a jukebox. Mix all of that together with the Everly Brothers and Rickie Nelson. Old misty memories still shining in my heart. We would go to live dances too. I can still hear the laughter as we danced trying to listen to the caller so we didn’t screw up. Although that was part of the fun too.

Just for the record, Skippers Smokehouse is in Tampa. Great place, very homey, if ya ever get to the West coast of FL check out the old “Skipperdome”.

I was thinking what is Dosey Doe? The photo is a nice place to see Jorma but I want to know more.
I called my friend and she explained to me it is a dance of Americana. Then I ask what is Americana? I can ask her dozens of question every day she always explains to me the answers. She will be back on Monday and in the restaurant she will show us the Dosey Doe dance. SWING YOUR PARTNER!@johno
glad you got to enjoy the AllGood Cafe and the Deep Ellum neighborhood. I had not made the connection with Blind Lemon Jefferson and the Jefferson Airplane before this. Blind Lemon walked the streets of Deep Ellum, along with Leadbelly, T-Bone Walker and others, before he recorded in Chicago.
What an awesome set – if this is gonna be the set you’ll be playing this time around – I gotta get myself a ticket. After the Beacon in December, I’m starting to get Hot Tuna withdrawals.

Those are some lucky folks who got to see those two solo shows, Jorma. I think I’ve only gotten to see you solo twice in the “recent” since I don’t know when. With Robben Ford at BB Kings in NY, and at FPR 2010. It’s a real treat to be able to hear the uninterrupted picking patterns. I remember Hurl saying “that was symphonic”, describing your performance at the ranch.
The barn must have been a hoot. I love the photos of the backstage decorations. Very cool. I’ve been listening to some of the concerts on You Tube, one from Skippers Smokehouse in Ft. Lauderdale, where you & Barry are going instrumental in all the songs. I love it. Barry is playing your vocal parts where you would be singing. Awesome, meditative listening.
